Pixie the six year old dachshund came for daycare yesterday. Like all dachshunds, she can be quite vocal, so it wasn’t a quiet day! It was lovely seeing her again though and Maisie had a new playmate for the day.

There wasn’t much room on Philip’s sofa yesterday, so it was a good job that he was down the workshop doing ‘manly’ things. Tom & Betsy commandeered it for the afternoon. He did however, return long enough to make a cup of tea and take this photo. Tom left, Betsy right.

Pablo goes home today after his holiday and I thought that the early mornings would be over. However last night Tom & Betsy got me up at 3:30! Maisie, decided to join them, not that she really needed to but I think she was bored! She was having fun in the garden making all the security lights work and in the end I had to enlist Philip’s help, who luckily was still about, to get her in. Little monkey! It’s a good job we love her! She then went straight back to her bed and slept! Pablo got us up at his usual 6am but Maisie didn’t stir this time and now we are all awaiting the arrival of Zorro for daycare. I think the chaise might see a lot of action today. Philip managed to get this lovely photo of Tom.

Yesterday proved to be quite a noisy one! Maisie was delighted to see Rocky and split her time between chasing him and barking at things with Arnie. Pablo & Betsy found themselves quieter parts of the house. While Zebedee took himself off to the annexe bedroom. When we all sat down later Philip managed to get these lovely photos.

As predicted, Maisie whinged for the entire two and a half hours I was out yesterday and I returned to find a less than serene Uncle Philip! Harmony was restored and she was delighted when Arnie arrived for an overnight stay. Her bestie, Rocky will be here later for his usual daycare and I expect Maisie will be very happy to see and torment him. She looks so sweet and innocent but we all know better. X

I fully expect to have a bruised eye by the end of the day! Zebedee not only sleeps on my bed but during the night he sometimes goes on a land grab! This morning after a 5:45 comfort in which he did not participate, we all went back to bed. I was just settling down but still had my eyes open, when I’m not quite sure what happened, but I got heartily kicked in my right eye! It did make me shout and I gently shoved him over to the other side of the bed. I don’t seem to have any bruising yet just a little tenderness. Such is life. I know he didn’t mean it and I love him dearly.

It was my turn yesterday to be held captive by Jaxon. I thought he was a bit under the weather because he had not only refused his food but wouldn’t even look at his beloved cucumber and carrot. His stomach was rumbling something fearful. After much cajoling he gave in around 1pm and ate said cucumber & carrot and then his kibble a bit later. When I sat down he got up on my lap, went to sleep and that was me stranded. In conversation with his Mum we both came to the same conclusion. He had been sulking because I had gone out on Sunday, abandoning him, so he was paying me back to make sure I didn’t do it again. Little monkey!

Maisie, as expected, went into full on whinge mode while I was out yesterday while Jaxon kept vigil in the kitchen. Max carried on guarding the handbag I had left him while the other three, weren’t that bothered. When I returned you’d have thought I’d been away for days, not just a few hours. They all then just settled down. In Jaxon’s case, literally right on Uncle Philip’s leg. It’s quite a large sofa, but Philip was squashed up into a corner! One of them was comfortable!

Maisie & Zebedee joined our happy little band yesterday but as they are regular visitors, no settling in time was needed. We all managed a fairly good night although Pablo has a built in 6am alarm! We did manage to get back to bed for another hour. Pablo has taken quite a shine to Maisie who in turn loves chasing Betsy who doesn’t seem to mind. Zeb usually watches on from the sidelines while Max either guards my handbag or rushes out at the others like a clockwork dog! I just managed to get this not very good photo of the three big ones. Jaxon & Pablo sharing the chaise with Betsy in the foreground.
