It’s Pablo’s birthday today and he’s eleven! He’s going home shortly after his brief stay. As usual he’s been a delight, even venturing onto my bed occasionally. Foxy & Titan are also going home this afternoon, leaving me guest less just for tonight. Yesterday they all seemed a little tired so spent quite a lot of time just relaxing.

Yesterday Pablo was joined by Foxy the Standard Poodle, Titan the Westie and Maisie the Miniature Schnauzer. The first two were here for a weekend break while for Maisie, it was a spot of daycare. After the usual 10 minutes of mayhem, they all settled in various places and Uncle Philip got busy with his trusty camera. He successfully snapped them all and reckoned Pablo looked like he’d been told how to pose and smile!

It was a fairly quiet day yesterday with just Pablo boarding and Millie coming for a few hours daycare, getting her ready for her holiday later in the year. They were quite happy in each other’s company and harmony was the order of the day.

It was quite busy here yesterday and Leo was very happy to find his nemesis, Lolly had gone home. He doesn’t have any problem with Rocky and harmony was the order of the day. Geri spent most of the day curled up on the settee while Leo communed with the trees in the garden! Meanwhile to quote Philip, Maisie was more Maisie than ever and Rocky just wanted peace, quiet and a cuddle. I sat down briefly and was rapidly joined by the aforesaid, Rocky & Maisie. Philip was busily snapping away and this lovely photo is the result. I’m actually not looking miserable, asleep or pulling a funny face and it highlights the photos, once again taken by Philip for my 70th birthday of the men in my life.

Yesterday when daycares Leo & Geri arrived, they were not best pleased to see little Lolly here. For some reason, Leo is very wary of her and Geri follows his lead. Lolly has never given them any cause for worry, but their owner thinks it might be because the noises she makes as an elderly Frenchwoman Bulldog, sound a little threatening. They have no problems with Rocky but he doesn’t make lots of noise. Leo spent a lot of time on pigeon watch under the trees, but eventually the lure of the chaise proved too great and they all came in and found their own space and for Leo it was the bed in the annexe bedroom.

After a few guest free days, Lolly returned last night. When she arrived she seemed all hot and bothered and it was quite worrying. So we spent the evening and all night with fans on. She soon settled and we managed a reasonable night’s sleep until 6:50. Hopefully, today won’t be quite as hot and a lot more comfortable for us all.

I was guest free yesterday, so no new photo. However, this has just popped up in my memories, taken an incredible seven years ago! This was Joey’s ‘Happy Place’ clamped alongside Uncle Alan. I like to think that this is still how they are.

Yesterday we welcomed a new guest. His name is Monty and he is an eleven month old Norfolk/Jack Russell Terrier with a terrific personality. Milo was also here for daycare and the two played almost constantly, but somehow had the sense to do most of it out of the sun. It was exhausting to watch but great fun. Occasionally just like toddlers, they would keel over to sleep and recharge their batteries. Luckily Philip was around to capture one of those moments.

Yesterday we welcomed Cookie the Sh*tzu/Pug and Millie the Yorkshire Terrier. They’d only done the trial daycare recently but with just Lolly here, all was fine and they settled in with no problems. They were originally doing an overnight but their owners circumstances changed and they were collected mid evening, leaving me with a guest free night! Today I am awaiting the arrival of new boy Monty and old hand, Milo. Meanwhile the photo of Cookie was taken by Philip but the one of Millie was taken by me and edited by Philip.

Yesterday proved a little chaotic as Leo seemed very wary of little French Bulldog Lolly. He doesn’t have the same problem with Rocky, also a French Bulldog. His Dad explained that he thinks it’s because of the noises they make which can sometimes sound quite threatening. Geri took her cue from Leo and they both tried to avoid her. Luckily Maisie was on hand to provide a distraction and as Philip was walking through the annexe bedroom, be came upon this lovely scene. Maisie and Leo side by side.
