My last guest free day for sometime and this lovely photo has just popped up in my memories. Zorro & George. Their respective owners are two lovely ladies who over the past few years have become such good friends to me. George’s Mum is my wonderful partner in crime, with whom I have shared days out and lovely holidays and Zorro’s Mum has been with me on days out when emotions have overtaken me. I treasure the friendship of both of them and look forward to many more outings .

Yesterday after Ruby had gone home I visited the home of Lucy & Fozzy. Previously they came every Wednesday for daycare, but recently Fozzy needed an operation and although recovered, is not quite up to the rough and tumble he partakes in here. It was lovely seeing them and I was made very welcome by their owners. We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours chatting and being made a fuss of by the dogs. Hopefully the new year will see their return.

As one Ruby went home, another arrived for her overnight stay. She is so used to staying with us and needs no time to settle in. She does love giving her Dad the really sad eyes saying ‘don’t leave me’ 10 seconds after he’s gone, she’s in her favourite place, my end of the mini chaise where she spends her time between meals gently snoring and breaking wind. We love her to bits. After her departure I will be guest free for a few days!

Ruby the Cockerpoo arrived yesterday for an overnight stay. She’d stayed once before and went straight to her favourite place, the end of the chaise. She quite happily stayed there except when food appeared, then she got quite animated. Her and Daisy are both going home today, but fear not! I won’t be guest free as the other Ruby is coming for an overnight stay.

Yesterday as predicted, wasn’t quiet but it was fun. Milo was his usual vocal self while Daisy and Leo bonded and raced around the garden together. My cleaners loved it! When it came to ‘quiet’ time Philip appeared with his camera and Leo went into his ‘pose’ which always makes us laugh. This is the result.

Daisy the miniature schnauzer duly arrived and was a little whingey at first, but then it had been awhile since she’d last stayed. As long as I sat where she could see me, she was fine, so I didn’t get much done but that’s okay as I’m still not fully recovered! We had a good night cuddled up on my bed and emerged around 7:30. Milo and Leo are both here for daycare today so Daisy will have company but it won’t be quiet! I just managed to get this photo.

Luna went home at midday after her long stay leaving daycares Milo & Rocky. So by mid afternoon I was strangely guest free! I changed my bedding, whipped the blankets off the furniture and settled down for a guest free night. This morning my bed looked like a battle had been fought! Half the covers were on the floor. Just shows that I move around a lot more when I don’t have dogs alongside me! Little Daisy Schnauzer will be arriving later so my drought hasn’t lasted long. Back go the covers on the furniture and I expect I’ll be sharing my bed again tonight. The photos are of yesterday’s guests.

Luna is going home this morning and we are certainly going to miss her. Yesterday with Uncle Philip all to herself, she had a wonderful day. He sent me two photos. One showed her just sat on the pouffee and the other stretched out alongside him when he needed a little ‘quiet’ time due to the early start.

Myrtle reverted to type yesterday and spent most of it recumbent on either the chaise or Philip’s sofa. Her and Maisie are both going home at sometime today leaving just Luna to finish her holiday as the only guest, which means she gets Uncle Philip and Auntie Val’s lap all to herself.

Philip managed the nigh on impossible yesterday! A photo of an upright, fully awake and alert, Myrtle! In our house, that is a rare occurrence indeed, unless food is involved. Bless her, it didn’t last long. Enjoy!

Uncle Philip suffered from a lot of “close harmony whingeing” when I went out last night, mainly Jasmine & Maisie. Myrtle couldn’t care less and slept through the whole thing while Luna sat on Uncle Philip’s lap trying to ignore them. I got a very excited welcome when I returned home and we all managed a good nights sleep. I’ve had to promise them that I won’t go out again over the weekend! Philip did manage to get these lovely photos.

Leo joined the girls yesterday, here for his usual daycare. It was a very peaceful morning as they were all stretched out on the furniture, sleeping! Leo on the chaise, Luna on the mini chaise and Myrtle on Philip’s sofa! I was able to do my paperwork, crosswords and prepare dinner in relative peace! The photo shows Leo in his usual strange pose. Bless him! X
