Maisie & Millie joined Tom & Kody yesterday and it proved to be a mad noisy day. Millie hadn’t visited since last year, but she came running in, did a brief recce in the garden and then literally threw herself into the fray. When they all went home, Tom just lay down and went to sleep, shattered! Here are the two girls just relaxing briefly!

Yesterday Tom enjoyed the company of Arnie and Leo, who were here for daycare. It was a little chaotic as my lovely cleaners were also here and Philip was overseeing and then moving a large amount of either sleepers or scaffold planks, ready for his planned work next week! The guests all seemed to enjoy the chaos and played quite happily. Philip did have time though to capture these wonderful photos.

Yesterday, Tom had unexpected company in the shape of Willow. She’s a very lively young Labrador and Tom was in his element. They both raced around outside until I called time out. Then they played indoors until fatigue took over and Philip managed to get this photo of Willow actually relaxing. After she went home, Tom slept! He was shattered.

Yesterday Tom had company in the shape of Lucy & Fozzy who were here for their usual daycare. Tom took quite a shine to Lucy. In an attempt to stop them jumping all over my friend who had come to visit, I sat on the chaise and this photo shows what happened next. Suddenly they were jumping all over me!

Axel, the beautiful Golden Shepherd came for daycare last week and what a good boy he was. Sometimes because of his size, he can seem a little overwhelming, but he played nicely with the other guests and all was peace and harmony. He does like a cuddle but was quite happy to share the attention. Philip managed to get this lovely photo of him.

Maisie went home yesterday, leaving Tom as the only boarder. He’s a brilliant guest, quiet, eats his food, plays nicely when other guests arrive and loves sleeping on my bed. Yesterday, I came back from the bathroom and this was the sight that greeted me. Tom very happily curled up with his head on my pillow. He looked so sweet that I didn’t have the heart to disturb him.

Maisie & Tom were joined yesterday by George for a few hours while his Mum & I were out. In the photo, he doesn’t look happy and we think it’s because he had to wait longer than usual for his dinner, perhaps by as much as 5 minutes! Poor George

Tom has settled into our routine well. He spends his nights on my bed and his days alternating between comfy places around the house. My biggest problem yesterday was stopping him laying in the sun. He was sensible enough to find the shady spots. He has however, taken a liking to Philip’s sofa, perhaps it’s the royal purple cover he likes! He’s a gorgeous boy who makes very little fuss.

Why do big dogs always think they can fit in small beds? Tom had to move just now so that I could get to my wardrobe, so he chose Little Max’s bed and has settled there!!

Little Max arrived at lunchtime for an overnight stay and Tom the golden Labrador joined us later in the evening for his holiday. Despite the difference in sizes, all was peace and harmony. Max & Maisie slept the night in their beds while Tom stretched out on mine. After our 5am visit to use the facilities, Maisie joined us on the bed and I was sandwiched between them in a slightly strange position which has led to my waking with an aching right hip! The photo shows Max with his body on my arm and his head on my side table! He thinks it comfortable!

I had the audacity to leave Maisie & the daycare guests yesterday and they responded in different ways! Dixey the spaniel didn’t care care if I was there or not, she just sat in the kitchen whinging for her Mum most of the time. Rocky just curled on the chaise, Axel & Leo were on opposite sides of the mini chaise just relaxing while Maisie sat staring at the door, keeping vigil, refusing to move or interact until I returned, then she graciously allowed her photo to be taken.

After the mayhem of yesterday, all the guests went home, leaving Maisie wondering where all her mates had gone. She was the only overnight guest but strangely, didn’t get on the bed. However we still did our 5:30 trip to use the facilities! She’ll be a happy bunny later as her bestie, Rocky will be here for his usual daycare along with new friend, Leo. In the photo, it tools like Maisie is reading the magazine but she’s actually converting my crisps!
