Canine Hydrocare We offer Canine Hydrotherapy services on the Essex and Suffolk border, with fully qualified staff, a 6 x 3 m purpose built pool and Hydrophysio treadmill.

Canine Hydrocare is a Canine Hydrotherapy centre based in Sible Hedingham, Essex. The centre is equipped with the latest Hydrophysio extended aquatic treadmill as well as a purpose built in-ground pool with integral ramp allowing easy access for all breeds. All Hydrotherapy treatments are strictly on a one to one basis with a qualified therapist in the pool with your dog at all times.

We’ve made it in to an actual book! Monty’s amazing owners Karly Fairclough, Ty and Rosie, have written a children’s book about our wonderful Monty, Monty has been coming to see us since he was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and continues to amaze us all the time! Monty is an Essex therapy dog, he does carting, he comes swimming every week, and he’s excelling in the show ring with his young handler Rosie (We can’t wait to see them get to crufts!), no judge has ever spotted Monty’s elbows and he’s even recently had comments about his good confirmation and how well he moves from experts in the breed!, Monty’s owners are so dedicated to him and keeping him pain free and in the best condition possible, he is an absolute credit to them! We are so proud of you Monty and so lucky to have you as part of our canine hydrocare family! Thank you so much to the Fairclough family for choosing to feature us in their book!🖤🤎🤍

Monty is big but not this big!😂

Some tips for keeping your dogs cool in this heat 🥵 ☀️

💧 If you’re worried they’re not drinking enough add some water to their food.
💧 Early Morning/Late night walks (missing a walk also won’t hurt if this isn’t possible!)
💧 Try your best to keep them in the shade! My own dogs are sun worshipers so I know it’s not always easy!
💧 Paddling pools in the garden!
💧 Cooling mats, if not, a wet towel left in the freezer and then laid on the floor will do! (If your dog is really struggling never cover them with a damp towel as this traps the heat!)
💧 Frozen treats / Licky mats (Also great enrichment for reduced exercise) Things like Greek yoghurt, Pate, peanut butter and cream cheese are all great for freezing! 🧊 ❄️
💧 Give them a hose down so that they’re damp and cool (again never do this if your dog is struggling or potentially has heat stroke as it can send them in to shock!)

☀️ Weather Update! ☀️ We’ve been keeping an eye on the temperature all week. Our pool building is nice and cool but we’re constantly monitoring it! If anyone would like to reschedule their appointments to earlier tomorrow, please let me know as I only have a couple of spaces available, I have also opened up a couple of early slots on Saturday if anyone would like their appointment moved, equally if you have an older, brachycephalic, or a dog with a big heavy coat and would like to reschedule for next week please let me know! 💦 🐾

Our boy Theo turned 10 this week! This boy is our longest client, he’s been coming to us since he was just a year old for fun and fitness, as he’s got older he’s developed arthritis and now needs his hydrotherapy to support his joints, Theo and his family of labradors have been coming to see us since we opened our doors and seeing them grow from young lively labs to lovely older boys is one of the best parts of our job, we love you T and hope you had the best birthday our special boy!🩵🩵🩵

Our Gorgeous Monty! Monty has been coming to see us for nearly 3 years! We are so proud of him and everything that he manages to achieve despite of his elbow dysplasia, with so much dedication from his wonderful family, he is absolutely thriving, his latest achievement is becoming a therapy dog. We may be biased but he could not be more perfect for this role, the kindest, most gentle boy!♥️💦🐶
