That pavement may be hotter than you think 🌡️

Even when the air temperature feels manageable, surfaces like sand and pavements can heat up quickly and burn your dog’s paws.

Before a walk, place the back of your hand on the ground for a few seconds.

Too hot for you? Too hot for them.

Walk early, walk late, or skip it altogether 🐾

Itchy skin is not always “just a summer thing” 🌿

Pollen, grass, fleas and insect bites can all trigger flare-ups, and a little scratching can quickly turn into sore skin.

Watch for licking paws, scratching ears, red skin, rashes, hair loss, scabs or runny eyes.

Please don’t use random creams or human medication, as some products are not safe for pets.

If your pet is scratching more than usual, book a check before it becomes a bigger problem 🐾

Grass seed season is here 🌾

Tiny, annoying, and surprisingly good at causing vet visits.

After walks, check paws, ears, and fluffy coats, especially if your pet starts licking, limping, shaking their head, or squinting.

If something seems off, call us sooner rather than later 🐾

Can’t wait!

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered their time to assist us on the road closure next Saturday – we're really grateful to you all. We need another handful of people though, and it's not too late to put your hand up to help!

We simply need local residents to take a spot at the end of one of the adjoining roads, alongside the signage, and you get to wear a snazzy high-viz vest too!

Would you be one of our 'road-enders'? You will be rewarded with ice-cream 😁🍦

Blue-green algae can be deadly for dogs.

As the weather gets warmer, keep an eye on still water during walks, swims and outdoor adventures 🌤️

It can look like harmless green, blue-green or brown scum, but even a small sip or licking it from their fur can be dangerous.

If your dog has been near suspicious water and starts vomiting, panting, acting weak, confused or unsteady, contact a vet immediately.

Know the signs. Avoid the scum. Keep them safe 🐾
