It could be hiding something extremely toxic. Blue-green algae can look like green slime, scum, or even paint floating on the surface—but just a sip or a swim can be fatal for your pup.

🛑 If the water looks weird, don’t risk it.

Paw pad burns are one of the most common (and preventable!) summer injuries we see. Even on mild days, sidewalks and roads can get way too hot for your pup’s paws.

🚫 If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!

Here’s how to protect them:
🌳 Walk early or late (cooler temps!)
🛣️ Stick to grass or shaded paths
🧦 Try dog booties for extra protection
💧 Keep paws clean & moisturized

Our Kate is the best receptionist I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my entire 17 years as a vet.
