Whitcombe Rockstar made his Royal Ascot debut last week for owner Michelle Crook and trainer Kieran Burke proving that dreams really can come true 💖
Whitcombe Rockstar affectionately known at his Dorset stables as ‘Rocky’ was bred by his owner Michelle and has lived his entire life with us here at Whitcombe Racing Stables.
Kieran Burke has proved himself to be a master of his trade on multiple horses in his training career primarily with his jumpers, his skills switched effortlessly over to flat racing and Rocky’s road to Ascot has been triumphant.
In 2024 Rocky dominated his rivals time and time again and was primed to perfection by Burke and partnered by Josephine Gorden to win the valuable London mile series final for his connections.
The prestigious Royal Ascot meeting is the pinnacle of the sport, to watch a home breed horse parade in the presence of royalty and gallop over the hallowed turf so full of history is a day most will only dream of.
Kieran Burke’s masterful 2024 season had given Whitcombe Rockstar a rating high enough to make dreams become reality. Rocky lined up in The Royal Hunt Cup over 1 mile in a field of 30 top class horses.
Rocky’s 2025 campaign was kicking off on racing’s biggest stage and he gave his connections a great watch in amongst the action up front for the majority of the race. Not placed at the post this time but a credit to his trainer and the team.
A delighted Michelle with her family and friends were able to have a runner at the Royal meeting and Rocky returned home in fine fettle with his seasonal reappearance under his belt.
Onwards and upwards for this wonderful much loved horse with an exciting 2025 campaign ahead.
We would also like to say thankyou to for capturing Rocky at home with his training leading up to this prestigious event 💖
