Fantastic 2024 Christmas/ Solstice ride today, with a luxury break for mulled cider at Holly and James's. Lots of fun, ponies were all excited but cooperative ⛄️❄️🥰🎄😄

Barny and Frankie enjoying their new shelter, which I made from scratch with recycled lengths of 3x3 which was packing wood for railway sleepers, kindly donated to me by railway workers. It's taken months doing this in my limited spare time, with a little bit of help from friends (thanks Mike, Millie Huntley , Grace, Miranda Loadsofeggs and Clive). Clari n Kolbe helped paint it 😊. Pretty pleased with it. Now just need to add some hay feeders, internal supports, and guttering to catch rain water. It will eventually be used for visiting horses. 🙂

We had a magical herbal self selection session on Monday with our wonderful resident zoopharmacognocist Sophie XiZeta. Millie and Ronnie kept on selecting for 2 hours, and gave lots of great reactions and lovely releases. Loved how they stood so close as if hugging and supporting each other. All the other horses on the yard joined in and had a blissful snooze. Tried hard not to laugh at Millie and her crazy reactions. 😆🥰 with Millie Huntley

Training livery spaces at Faunbank Stables will be available from May 2024. We start, back, bring on and re-train horses. We don't 'break' them as our ethos is to keep the horse relaxed and happy, as much within the comfort zone as possible, using positive reinforcement and gentle methods. We use a combination of classical and natural horsemanship to produce a happy, well balanced and co-operative partner. We take a holistic approach, with expert therapists on hand to explore any physical and emotional issues with equine massage, Myofascial release and Zoopharmacognosy. 'Problem' horses are no problem, we offer help with all training and behaviour difficulties. We are experienced with ex-racers and event and competition horses, but all types welcome. BHS accredited professional coach in complete horsemanship available to coach you with your horse to re-unite and keep you on the right track. Pretty amazing day today! 10 months ago 4 year old Ziggy came here. He was traumatised, had a lot of physical pain, and was extremely anxious, partly due to a bad road accident among other reasons. He was scared of everything, reared when I tried to put a fly mask on him, was terrified of the saddle and bridle, and very difficult to rug as he was so scared of it. He needed numerous chiropractor visits, from Serena Bowen (highly recommended) loads of massage, bodywork and Myofascial release alongside endless groundwork and desensitisation. We also used Zoopharmacognosy with Sophie XiZeta to help him get over his trauma. I thought he was ready for re-backing in July, but misjudged it, and found out the hard way that he wasn't ready with an ambulance for concussion and memory loss after an unlucky fall (last video). So it was back to the drawing board. We got giant teddies, and then a dummy (Shelly) to ride Ziggy and take the spooks and crashes. Then he had a bit of time off over the winter. We've worked with the mounting block for the last few weeks, alongside lunging, loose schooling and longlining. Then today, he finally said that he was ready and let me ride him with no drama! Yay! Still a long way to go, but a big step forwards. I wasn't sure this horse would ever be sound and/or confident enough to be ridden. So very happy. All done with the help of my amazing apprentice Millie, Clari and Grace.

2 days in a row this weekend at Kingston Maurward show jumping. On Saturday Clari and Frankie did the clear round, getting 2 clears. Then today, her first competition in nearly 2 years. She overcame her nerves and got 2 great rounds at 50 and 60 coming 3rd and 4th!! 🥳. Had a go at the 70 also, but had a bit of trouble with fillers. Frankie was a little star though, very well behaved all weekend. Now just need to work on fillers, rails etc. Millie and Gucci came also today, their first comp. Got a beautiful clear round in the 80, were going great in the 90 until Gucci got a but gung-ho and accidentally parted ways with Millie. Great first effort though, and very promising pair for the future. 🥰🤩
