I'm so lucky to wake up every day genuinely looking forward to a job I love.🐾

I have the most wonderful clients, and receiving beautiful comments like this reminds me why I took the leap to run my own business.

Knowing that my passion for dogs can inspire someone else is the icing on the cake. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who trusts me with their four-legged family members.

I sometimes get asked....

'What are the swimming goggles for?' 🏊‍♀️ 👀

PPE (personal protective equipment) to save my eyeballs getting furry 😆 and they don't fog up when also wearing my mask.

I've undertaken some massive desheds, clip offs and extra carding (stripping out dead, fluffy undercoat) to help your pups with this warm weather lately.

🥵 Heatwave 🔥 round 3 of 2026.....

I may be in touch about appointments next week. Although the forecast does keep changing, so I'm not altering too many in advance, just in case.
I don't want to mess you about unnecessarily.
Trying to purchase or hire an air conditioning unit atm moment is like trying to find hens teeth. 😬

NB....💀FLEA INCREASE. ☠️

Fleas love a spike in temperature. Please be extra vigalent and do a flea poo test. If you wet the flea dirt (black pepper like bits in fur) on something white, it will turn red due to the blood ingested from your dog.
Pupae can hibernate in a quiet corner of your house or car for an incredible length of time. The heat can induce hatching, the flea hops on the next warm body, starting off the life cycle again, when you think you irradiated them before.
Flea charges will apply, as it causes extra work, extra product costs and diary alterations.

Most went home a little damp, with less than a perfect groom, but much more comfortable. 😎

🔥IF YOUR DOG IS PANTING IN THIS WEATHER AT REST IT NEEDS COOLING!🔥

The past few days I've seen so many dogs panting at rest! Yes, this is the main way dogs try to reduce their body temperature when the external air temperature is above their comfortable upper range (~30°C/86°F), but they should not be doing this for extended periods of time!

Sadly too many owners are unaware and sit there drinking their beer or coffee whilst the dogs lay their panting continously!

❄️Drinking Water!
❄️Reducing coat length!
❄️Hosing/Wetting/Paddling Pools!

🥵HEATWAVE grooming adjustments:

*Early starts/early finishes or out-right cancellation when too hot, to be rescheduled.
* Emmi-pet teeth cleaning session to be rescheduled.
*Tag-on maintenance teeth cleaning to groom appointment cancelled.(Not charged for this part)
*Normal grooming procedure in reverse to reduce timings. Pre-clip dry trim (get that thick coat off first) followed by a tepid or cool bath+no-heat, cool blasting.

Your dog may still be damp, not as neat as usual but more comfortable after a quicker groom.
I will always advocate in your dog's best interests.

Grooming in reverse saves time but a dirty coat damages/blunts my blades much quicker. So your groom session may be shorter but the price remains the same, as sharpening my blades now costs me £6.50 per blade ( I have over 20)

I'm prioritising compromised and thick coated/normally shaved dogs first.

Please bare with me while I juggle my diary appointments to avoid the hottest parts of the day for your dogs comfort.

I will have all your dogs best interests at heart. 🥰

🚗 Please drive your dog to their appointment if the temperature is above 22 degrees, the pavement is hot or they are strugglig with the heat.

Please feel free to cancel your appointment if it's in the best interests of your dog or ring me for a chat.
