You can express a preference for any cats you have seen on our website or our social media pages. However when you are contacted, you will be advised whether you are a match for a specific cat. Please make sure you live within one hour’s drive of Darlington before applying! (We can advise on how to find a RSPCA centre closer to you if you are too far away to adopt from us!)
Step 2:
Sit back and wait! Waiting time for us to respond to applications is around two weeks, so please be patient! Step 3:
Your details will be added to our database and you will be contacted when a perfect match is found! When we have a perfect match you will receive an email or phone call, asking for further information and to discuss your future feline friend. Step 4:
If we can offer you a cat or kitten for adoption, the rest of the application process will be completed via phone, email and a virtual home check via online chat will be completed. Step 5:
If the adoption process is successful, your cat will be brought to your home by experienced RSPCA staff. There is an adoption fee to pay when you get your new feline friend:
- Kittens under 6 months: £110
- Cats 6 months - 6 years: £100
- Cats 7 years or over: £90
Step 6:
Live happily ever after with your new feline family member! If you have any questions or need advice, don’t worry, you will receive ongoing support from us following adoption!

Young Ravenpaw only left Cat Hub care a couple of weeks ago and he’s already made himself at home with his new family! Gaining a lovely, feline big brother, Ravenpaw has definitely landed on his paws! 😻🐾🐈⬛

‼️IS THIS YOUR CAT?‼️
This lovely, young adult female cat was handed into Medivet Darlington (Stanhope Park Vets) on 15th July and also handed into Vets4Pets Darlington shortly after. She was found wandering in a member of the public’s garden. She is now with us and we are hoping to reunite her with her family. 🤞🏻
She is neutered, she is NOT microchipped, is happy and appears to have been well cared for. If she is yours or you may know who she belongs to, please get in touch with us via messenger or via email at [email protected] 🐾

⭐️TUPPENCE and HA’PENNY⭐️
Tuppence (female) and Ha’penny (male) are a beautiful, 15-16 week old kitten duo who are ready to find their forever home! 🐾
They are both incredibly sweet, playful and friendly kittens!
Ha’penny is a purry and jolly boy who loves playing and likes a cheeky belly rub.
Tuppence is the shyer of the two but once she knows you she’s a lovely, friendly and such a playful little lady!
🏡We are looking to rehome Tuppence and Ha’penny together and they can live with other friendly cats.

After raising four wonderful kittens, it was silver queen, Totoro’s, time to shine. She left Cat Hub care last month and we received this update on how she’s settling in!
“After a rather noisy first night, Totoro is settling in very well. She has already taken to her new food, loves playing with the teaser toy and is comfortable enough to sleep at ground level- at first she napped at the top of the fridge!”

The RSPCA Cat Rehoming Hub is a rescue and rehoming cattery based just outside Darlington in the North East of England.
We work with local RSPCA branches to rehome cats and kittens rescued by RSPCA officers across the Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Sunderland, Northallerton and North Yorkshire areas. The cats we rehome have often faced cruelty or neglect, or been abandoned.
We have 20 pods in a local cattery which can accommodate up to 30 cats and kittens at any one time. We currently rehome more than 300 cats and kittens each year and we are planning to steadily increase that number. To do that costs us £75,000 each year.
You can help us in our mission to rescue and rehome neglected, abused and abandoned cats in our region by Volunteering, or Donating to us.
Using social media we aim to provide videos and photographs of cats we have available for rehoming. In addition to these rehoming posts we will be attending local village fairs and shows. We will be announcing these events via social media.
