Yesterday we shared a short clip of Kiki on her training walk and pointed out we used and allowed more freedom to help her reactivity all while remaining in public with real world distraction the following videos are just a small part of what we did and what what was achieved, thanks to those who have helped and walked with us ( member of public friends and Stuart of DOT Academy who have all helped aid her journey (2nd video in comments )

Due to injuring myself and continuing like I'd just had my 21st not my 43rd birthday 🫤 some training walks will adapted to what I can manage handling wise, also 121 sessions I will be restricting my handling and demonstrations I do apologise and ask those having 121 lessons to please stop me taking your dogs and handling them you know what I'm like 😂

Some training walks maybe rescheduled please note these will be taken as individual decisions to what I can manage for myself to heal not size or anything else incase I cancelled a poodle and you see me walking Great Dane

This is Kiki her reactivity to dogs could of been described as off the scale ( typical staffy screams )

We identified this was more than likely frustration based however wasnt 100% she was dog friendly either, the decision was made with experience and knowledge we would go down the give more freedom( long line) get better behaviours and remove the freedom as we got the desired behaviours using a shorter lead, Kiki discovered she could walk next to and even at times sneak a bum sniff of dogs she was walking with 😀, her owner continued following what work was done on training walks and saw massive improvements and she just keeps getting better each day we keep moving in the right direction making progress

Avoiding isnt helping, ignoring isnt helping, man even accredited trainers aren't working for there clients if you cant deal with the issues send them somewhere that can swallow your pride contact and find out how your local non accredited trainers ( or even another accredited) work we not all prong and e collar and your clients leave for us in the end anyway, ( trainers should be happy to allow questions and I personally am in public alot feel free to watch )

Dog trainers need to do better alot nowadays are all good for basic classes and tricks but fail to provide anything more is this lack of training or simply the methods taught don't allow then divert off set training methods and plans? Im open to discuss, same 2 trainers are mentioned regularly i wont name as thats not right in alot of ways dont get me wrong im happy to take theses clients on there training journey but success shouldn't come after failure elsewhere
