How pain management has helped Millie ❤️
Millie's owner brought her in to us after noticing she would be limping and stiff after a day at day care, or in the morning after long periods of rest. We started her on some pain relief and her owner noticed a slight improvement but not fully her usual self ☹️
At this point, imaging was advised and we performed a CT scan in-house which allowed us to look at her bones and the joints for any issues. This is when we found out she had elbow dysplasia, affecting both elbows, which is a painful joint abnormality 😔
After consulting an orthopaedic specialist, it was decided that she currently does not need surgery and we can manage her pain with medications! And we are happy to say she is doing very well with this! We keep seeing Millie back in practice to ensure she is coping well and that no further or additional treatment is necessary yet 🤩
