Town Vets focuses on the care and treatment of pets. We treat mainly cats and dogs but also birds, reptiles and small mammals.

Town Vets are an experienced community based veterinary team who strive to provide a personal service for our clients. Our aim is to give you advice that is in the best interests of your pet in order to maintain or improve their health. Hector visited the practice for his final vaccination 💉

Safe to say he’s already figured out exactly how to win everyone over — those puppy eyes have the whole team wrapped around his little paw already! 🧡

He was very brave, enjoyed all the cuddles, and even treated us to a cheeky wink before heading home 🐶😉

We can’t wait to watch this handsome boy grow up!

🐱Lottie has been coming to see us for an amazing 10 years!

Over the years she’s become a very familiar face at the practice, and the team always love seeing her come through the door. Patients like Lottie really do become part of the practice family 💙

Spa day for Fergus the Scottie! 🛁🐾

Today was Fergus’s favourite kind of pamper session — a warm Malaseb bath! With plenty of bubbles, gentle scrubs, and lots of praise, he was one happy little Scottie.

Our wonderful student nurse Sadie and animal care assistant Lauren were on hand to make sure Fergus’s spa treatment was extra special, giving him plenty of gentle care, cuddles, and attention throughout.

Malaseb shampoo helps keep his skin healthy by managing itchiness, yeast, and bacteria, so bath time isn’t just relaxing — it’s part of keeping Fergus feeling his very best ✨

Result: one fresh, fluffy, very pleased Scottie looking extra handsome 💙

The picture below is the statement issued by APHA on 17.04.26. Reading this it appears that from tomorrow it is no longer possible to leave GB with your pet using an EU passport if you are a GB resident. Alas you will need an AHC. All 3 of our vets can issue an AHC. We do not want you to be stranded.

**URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT**

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (AHPA) have issued changes to the PET Travel Scheme effecitve immediately
Any pets currently traveling to the EU on an EU issued PET passport, who's main residence is the UK will require an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) to now travel, as the passport will be deemed invalid.
Owners are urged to contact the government website (GOV.UK) for full details
If you're currently away with your pet and concerned these changes may affect you, then please contact a local vet practice
If you require an AHC for pet travel and would like to enquire further, please feel free to contact the practice on 01704 535 233
