Meet the gorgeous Willow, this week’s superstar at Dogwood Referrals! 💖

Willow had a rare condition called Pes Varus, causing her leg to bend inward, something we occasionally see in dachshunds 🐶.

Working with Fusion Implants, we used custom-made guides to plan and perform surgery that straightened her leg with precision.
She’s now healing brilliantly and already back to her cheeky self! 💪💕

✨ Swipe to see her transformation!

Leave Willow some love in the comments!

Sir Binky came into our Woodstock practice for gut stasis. He was given some fluids and medications, with lots of yummy food so he could go home a happier bunny🐇

Reggie would like to let you all know some key things to consider when housing rabbits.

The most important thing is making sure you get a balance between having plenty of space to exercise but also a safe space for them to rest. 😴

As you probably know, our bunnies are very curious creatures and need plenty of things to keep them entertained! Incorporating this into their housing can be as simple as cardboard boxes or plastic tubes. Whatever it is that they prefer, make sure you have plenty of them!

Today’s rabbit awareness is brought to you by the fabulous Brie 🥰

Rabbits are prey animals which means they can be very good at hiding when they’re not feeling well! This means we have to be extra careful if we notice any changes in behaviour or appearance. Have a read through the images in this post and keep on the lookout for any signs your furry friend might not be feeling too good.
If you’re concerned, feel free to give us a call or book an appointment, we’re always happy to see bunnies in our clinic! 🐰

It’s rabbit awareness week!! 🐇

Our resident bunny, Burrata, would like to make you all aware of a few key things about rabbit care. We’ll share a new one each day and if you want your rabbit to star in our post then comment your favourite photo of them below!

Firstly, diet is a very important thing to get right with your bunnies. Feeding hay is a vital component of their diet and should make up 85-90% of their food intake. This should generally be an amount the same size as they are everyday!
A handful of fresh greens each day, such as kale, asparagus, basil, dandelions, grass (not freshly cut), cauliflower leaves and celery, ensure that they get additional nutrients and provide some variety to their diet. Be careful to avoid anything grown from bulbs as these can be dangerous.
A tablespoon of pellets is the perfect amount to ensure they receive the much needed fibres, vitamins and minerals. If your rabbit is a bit bigger and over 3.5kg, then two tablespoons would work well!
And they should definitely have access to fresh water all day everyday.
