Happy New Year 🎉🐾

As we step into a brand new year, I just want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year 2025 has been here at Groom at the Top.

From muddy paws to fresh grooms, from nervous first visits to confident struts out of the door, this year has been full of wagging tails, sloppy kisses, and so much trust from you and your amazing dogs. Every groom, every treat bought, every chat at the counter means more than you’ll ever know, and I’m so grateful to be part of your dog’s life, whether it’s a quick nail trim or a full pamper session.

And of course, the dogs… the seat stealers, the treat beggars, the professional snoozers, and the ones who think the hoover is public enemy number one. They’re the reason we do what we do, and honestly, they make every day better.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m so excited for what’s to come. More cuddles, more grooms, more new treats and goodies, more laughs, and continuing to be a place where dogs feel safe, loved, and thoroughly spoiled. I can’t wait to welcome familiar faces back through the door and meet plenty of new ones too.

So here’s to another year of muddy walks, clean pups, full treat bags, and dogs running your life… because let’s face it, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Boxing Day, according to the dog 🐶🎁

Dear Diary,
Yesterday I ate like a king.

Today I am full, sleepy, and slightly offended that the humans are still eating snacks without me.

The wrapping paper was fun.

The toys were excellent.

The walk was optional but apparently “necessary”.

Now it’s Boxing Day which means
• Leftovers might happen
• Naps are mandatory
• Belly rubs should be constant
• And I will be checking every bag that comes into the house, just in case

Hope all my fellow doggos are stretched out somewhere warm, dreaming of sausages and planning their next snack.

’Twas the night before Christmas at Groom at The Top,
Not a paw pad was tapping, not even a bop.
The leads were hung neatly, the treats stacked just right,
In hopes Santa Paws would pop in that night.

The doggos were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sausages danced in their heads.
With Lisa in slippers and Dennis nearby,
We’d just locked the door and said one last goodbye.

When out in the street there arose such a sound,
I peeked round the corner and what did I find?
A sleigh full of pups with tails wagging fast,
And Santa Paws laughing, a jolly old blast.

His sack wasn’t toys, but treats piled high,
Pig ears and Woofins, oh my oh my.
Yak bars and sausages, blankets so neat,
Even Rudolph jumpers for pups with cold feet.

He dashed through the shop with a sparkle and cheer,
Leaving free samples and festive good cheer.
He checked every shelf with a nod and a grin,
“Now this is a place dogs love coming in.”

He scratched every ear and booped every nose,
Admired the grooms and the shine on their toes.
Dennis supervised, as Dennis does best,
Quality control passed every test.

With a wink and a laugh and a jingle of bells,
He called out, “You’ve smashed it, this place really sells.”
Then off to his sleigh with a whistle so bright,
Leaving paw prints of joy in the soft winter night.

But I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and keep wagging, goodnight!” 🎅🐶✨
