Tara, a gorgeous 6-month-old Lagotto Romagnolo. 🐾💙

Originating from Italy, the Lagotto Romagnolo was originally bred as a water retriever and is now best known for its truffle-hunting skills. Their dense, curly coat is an important part of the breed standard, helping to protect them from the elements. Regular grooming is essential to keep those beautiful curls healthy, mat-free, and looking their best.

Tara was an absolute sweetheart to groom, and her curls are looking fabulous! We can’t wait to see her again at Dogs Rock. ✂️❤️

Friday is a day I'll never forget – I've officially taken over the keys and am proud to announce that I'm the new owner of Dogs Rock Dog Groomers! 🐾🔑

I'm incredibly excited to begin this new chapter and can't wait to welcome all of our wonderful clients, both familiar and new. My passion is making every dog look and feel their very best while ensuring they have a safe, calm, and enjoyable grooming experience.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Your encouragement means the world, and I'm looking forward to building on everything that has made Dogs Rock Dog Groomers so special.

Today is a day I never imagined I’d have to write about.

After a huge amount of thought, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from Dogs Rock.

As many of you know, my health has become increasingly unpredictable, and sadly I’ve reached the point where I have to step away from grooming. This business has been my baby from day one. I’ve poured my heart and soul into every part of it, and making this decision has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

The one thing that has made it a little easier is knowing exactly who is taking over.

Nothing is changing for you. You’ll still receive the same exceptional level of care, the same love for your dogs, and the same commitment to quality that Dogs Rock has always stood for. Ben already treats every dog as if they were his own, and I know he will continue to do so as the new owner.

I genuinely wouldn’t have trusted anyone else with my business. Watching Ben grow over the last few years has been incredible, and I have complete confidence that he is going to take Dogs Rock to even greater heights.

I am so unbelievably proud of everything he has achieved already, and I cannot wait to watch him shine in this next chapter. Dogs Rock couldn’t be in better hands.

To every single one of our wonderful clients, thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your dogs, supporting my dream, laughing with me, crying with me, and making Dogs Rock what it is today. I will always be grateful.

This isn’t goodbye for Dogs Rock. It’s simply the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and I know you’re all going to love what’s to come.

This feels like a strange post to be writing on our business page, but many of you know us personally and have followed our lives for years.

Last week, we lost one of our closest friends, Phil, to mental health.

Phil wasn’t just a friend, he was Matt’s best friend. The kind of friend who becomes family. The kind of friend whose absence changes everything.

The last week has been heartbreaking. Watching the people who loved him try to make sense of something that will never truly make sense has been devastating. Mental health is cruel. It doesn’t discriminate, and sometimes the battles people are fighting are far bigger than anyone around them realises.

In honour of Phil, a fundraiser has been set up to help give him the farewell and memorial he deserves. The support so far has been incredible and we’re so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared kind words, or simply checked in on those affected.

Because Phil would absolutely take the mick out of anything too serious, Matt has decided to tackle the Welsh Three Peaks next weekend wearing nothing but a pair of budgie smugglers to raise funds in Phil’s memory.

Most people think dog grooming is just a haircut…

It’s not.

It’s visual correction 🪄🐶

A skilled groomer will assess your dog’s structure before even picking up the scissors. We look at balance, proportions, and conformation and then groom to enhance or soften what’s there.

This little lady has “10 and 2” feet (turned out).

So instead of grooming everything evenly:
✂️ More coat is left on the inside
✂️ Tighter on the outside
✂️ Shaped to create the illusion of straighter legs

Same dog. Same structure.
Completely different appearance.

That’s the Dogs Rock difference! 🤘🏻
