Volunteer Wanted for Hurst Hedgehog Haven

We are looking for dedicated volunteer to join our established wild hedgehog rescue team.

To help with the rescue, you will need a suitable space in your home or garden to accommodate the hedgehogs in your care. This role would particularly suit a retired or semi-retired person, although anyone with the right commitment is welcome to apply.

A full driving licence and access to transport are important. We provide all necessary equipment, support, and training. An interest in wildlife and animal welfare would be a great advantage.

Please note that this is not an activity for children or a family hobby project. Caring for injured and vulnerable wildlife requires dedication, responsibility, and compassion.

The work can be challenging at times, but it is extremely rewarding, and you will be part of a friendly, experienced, and supportive team making a real difference to wild hedgehogs in need.

If you would like to find out more, please call Ann 07787515296

This lovely chap arrived thanks to Phil Richardson from Brighton & Hove Wildlife Advice & Rescue Service (WARS) having been checked over by New priory vets (brighton). He is a big mature male but a little thin & dehydrated. He has a microchip from East Sussex WRAS so we were able to find out his history.
A lovely example of the wildlife support teams working together ❤️.
He is monitored on camera so we can provide the best care.
Thank you to everyone who helped.
xH 🦔❤️🙏
