💚 Who is Little Pickles for? 🐾
In this photo, this little puppy is wearing a Happy Hoodie to help reduce the noise while I work. It's one small example of how a groom can be adapted to the individual dog in front of me. 💚
When I talk about providing individual, confidence-focused grooming, I sometimes mention dogs who are nervous or anxious around grooming.
But Little Pickles isn't only for dogs with significant grooming difficulties.
It's for dogs who benefit from having a little more time.
The dog who worries about the dryer.
The dog who isn't keen on having their paws touched.
The puppy who is still learning what grooming is all about.
The older dog who may need a little more comfort and patience.
The dog who finds a busy salon overwhelming.
Or simply the dog whose owner would prefer a quieter, individual 1:1 grooming experience.
Some dogs will happily sail through their groom. Others may need a short break, a slower introduction or a little extra reassurance.
Neither is a problem.
At Little Pickles, I keep my grooming diary intentionally small so that I have the time to focus on the individual dog in front of me — their coat, their comfort, their communication and what they need from their appointment.
I also want owners to feel comfortable being honest with me about their dog's previous experiences.
We're not looking for perfect dogs; we're looking for honest information.
If your dog has struggled with an aspect of grooming before, telling me doesn't mean they will be judged or labelled. It helps me understand them, prepare appropriately and decide how I can best support them.
There may also be occasions where a dog's needs are beyond what I can safely or appropriately provide, and I will always be honest about that too.
Little Pickles is about individual dogs receiving individual care. 💚🐾
