Meet beautiful Layah 🖤

It’s hard to believe this stunning Siberian Husky is 13 years old!
Despite her gorgeous appearance, Layah has been struggling with spondylosis and disc issues in her neck, which can cause episodes of acute pain and discomfort.

She’s started her treatment journey with us using acupuncture and laser therapy and underwater treadmill. With some at home therapeutic exercises to help keep her comfortable, mobile and enjoying life to the fullest.

We are delighted to be helping this lovely girl 💕

Meet pretty Penny 😍

She has been diagnosed with Acute Non-Compressive Nucleus Pulposus Extrusion (ANNPE)
It’s a sudden spinal cord injury in dogs caused when disc material hits the spinal cord at high speed, usually during exercise or movement.

Signs appear very suddenly and can include:
* Yelping in pain.
* Weakness or paralysis.
* Wobbliness or loss of coordination.

Surgery is generally not required, and the prognosis for regaining mobility is typically excellent as long as the dog retains deep pain sensation in the toes.

Underwater treadmill is one of the many ways to aid recovery from ANNPE. It allows dogs to practise walking in a controlled and supported environment.
The resistance of the water also helps activate muscles without overloading the spine or joints. 💦

Penny did really well on her first tread and we look forward to helping her on road to recovery 💪🏻❤️‍🩹

Meet Chloe - one of our regulars here at Holistic Pet 💕

Bernese Mountain Dog are large, moderately active dogs that originated in the Swiss Alps.

Traditionally used by Alpine farmers as working farm dogs, they are recognised for their thick medium-to-long coats, most commonly marked in black, rust, and white.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for having a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing temperament, which is a big part of why they’re such popular family pets.

Isn’t she gorgeous 🥰
