Kittens looked homes

We have 3 kittens around 13/14 weeks old looking rehomed.

Florence - black and white semi long haired female.
Vincent - ginger semi long haired male
Skye - tabby and white short haired female.

They had a rough start in life, living in a barn and suffering from cat flu but have now been nursed back to good health.
Due to this we would prefer indoor only homes to ensure they remain healthy.

We will provide vouchers for our vet to cover their vaccinations and spay/neuter, which must be carried out.

*Kittens are in foster care in Belfast and arrangements will need to be made to visit them there.

*Children 6 plus only.

Meet Doug, the charming 2-year-old Collie who is on a mission to find his perfect home! Fully vaccinated and microchipped, he’s ready to embark on new adventures with a loving family.

Doug has a heart full of friendship and wants to be everyone’s buddy! He can live with another dog after a successful meeting and is great with children aged 8 years and older. This playful guy loves to have fun and will bring joy to any household.

As with all rescue dogs, it’s crucial to give Doug the space and patience he needs to adjust to his new environment. Collies are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and energetic spirit, making them wonderful companions for active families.

Collie-ly Adorable Marley Seeks a Forever Home! 🐾

Meet Marley, the stunning collie with the most beautiful eyes you'll ever see! At just 10-12 months old, this handsome boy is ready to find his forever family. Marley has received his first vaccination, with the second one coming up at the end of the month, and he's already microchipped.

As a typical collie, Marley is intelligent, loyal, and full of energy! He thrives on companionship and is eager to learn, making him a fantastic addition to an active household. He is good with other dogs, provided they have a successful meet-and-greet, and he can also live with dog-savvy children who can engage with him kindly and respectfully.

Marley will need to be neutered when he's old enough, but in the meantime, he’s just looking for love and a place to call home.

These two babies came into our shelter, and we immediately had concerns for their well-being as they came from a puppy farm.

Neglected to the point we couldn't tell what breed or age they were we arranged to get them to Hanna Ballywalter Groomers ASAP for grooming. It was a mammoth task for Hanna as it was difficult to find a start point so badly matted these little ones were.

However, with perseverance, time, and lots of shampoo, we discovered the two beautiful pups hiding under all that terrible mess. Now called Arthur and Katie, they are facing a wonderful future waiting to find their new homes.

I am amazed how resilient animals can be after being treated so badly but still trust humans as these little guys do. They still require veterinary work to bring them up to health for rehoming, and should anyone care to help us with this, donations can be made through our website, page, or directly with Rathgael vets.

River
Male approx 13 weeks old
Vaccinated, microchipped and voucher will be given for his neuter when he is old enough.

River is a complete sweetheart who was hand reared with 4 siblings from around 2/3 weeks old.

His brothers and sisters were adopted as pairs and now River is looking for his forever home. He would love to be rehomed with another playful kitten or young cat as he craves his playtime and these will be the preferred applications.

River is in a foster home and has been well socialised with the resident dog, 2 other cats and with older children. He also likes to sleep on the human bed (with the other cats and dog!).

River seems keen to be outside and so a home away from any busy or main roads is a must for when he is old enough to go outside. Indoor only with a cattio will also be considered.

River is not at the Barn for meeting so arrangements will need to be made to meet in his foster home in Bangor.

Children 6 plus only.

Unfortunately through no fault of her own Erin is back with us and we would really love to find her a forever home.

Erin would be best suited to a quieter family home. Erin is a sweet loving girl looking for her perfect home. She loves all dogs and is good with cats pending a meet and great. We believe she is a lurcher with some shepherd in there and true to the breed she is loyal and protective and loves her family. She would do best with older children as she doesn't like much chaos- when it's her bed time she wants to curl up and not be disturbed until the morning so for that reason quieter households would be better for her.
She is great in the car, loves her food and for that reason is easily trained and enjoys learning new skills for her active mind.

Our Story

The BARN is a haven for animals in need of rescue and adoption. We promote animal welfare within Northern Ireland, we rescue & re-home; we tend and we care for our animals in our care at our rescue based in Carrowdore, County Down; we look after rescued cats and dogs and also have dogs with permanent residency who found their forever home here at the BARN. The BARN operates a ‘no kill’ policy and we will not put to sleep a healthy animal. We have a number of new expansions in the pipeline regarding the BARN complex with a view to progressing the number of rescues we can accomadate within the rescue. If you are interested in adopting, we will welcome you! We are also grateful for offers of fostering, volunteering, donations. If you care about animal welfare we’re here to help, guide and assist.
