Meet Peppy 🐶

Peppy came in today to be Spayed and was very brave. 🩷

Spaying is a surgical procedure that removes the reproductive organs; the ovaries and uterus.

There are many benefits from spaying your dog:
✔️Prevents unwanted pregnancies
✔️ Prevents them from coming into season
✔️ Prevents uterine infections, such as pyometra, which can be life threatening.
✔️ Eliminates the possibility of a false pregnancy, which can cause milk production, nesting and behavioural changes.
✔️Reduces the risk of mammary cancers
✔️ It stops the unwanted attention of male dogs

Timings for spaying your female dog is recommended three months after a season has finished but the recommended age will vary in different breeds.

We are pleased to say she was very brave, very well behaved and is doing well.

🐾 A lovely day at Mollington Village Fete! 🐾

Ferriston Vets had a wonderful time meeting so many local families, dogs and friendly faces at the village fete and dog show.

It was great to see such a fantastic turnout, with so many happy dogs enjoying the day, and we were really pleased to be part of such a warm community event.

A big thank you to the organisers for having us, and well done to everyone who took part in the dog show. We loved chatting with you all and introducing Ferriston Vets as we get closer to opening.

🐾 Introducing Lucy — Our New Registered Veterinary Nurse!

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Lucy to the Ferriston Vets family as our new RVN!

Lucy brings with her seven years of dedicated clinical experience at The Ark in Stratford-upon-Avon, where she developed a wonderful breadth of skills in small animal care. Her veterinary journey was inspired by a truly unforgettable experience in New Zealand, where she witnessed a farm dog — Blu — make a remarkable recovery from life-threatening head trauma and return to working on the farm within just six months. That moment of resilience and recovery shaped her passion for animal care, and it shines through everything she does.

Outside of the practice, Lucy is a true animal lover at heart. She shares her life with two dogs and a small flock of pedigree native sheep, which she proudly shows during the summer months — including a well-earned Third Prize at Moreton-in-Marsh Show! 🐑🏆

Lucy is excited to become part of the Ferriston community and cannot wait to meet you all and your beloved pets.
