On the 30th anniversary of the ineffective , we've joined forces with Battersea, Blue Cross, British Veterinary Association - BVA, RSPCA (England & Wales) and The Kennel Club UK to fight breed-specific legislation, which punishes dogs due to the way they look. BSL needs to be repealed and replaced with breed-neutral legislation.

Some very wise words from Jen at Calvert Canines

A COLLAR IS NOT A TRAINING TOOL!

Pulling your dog around on lead by a collar is damaging their necks.

Using the pain and discomfort that this causes to teach a dog to "heel" by yanking them around is cruel. And actually counter productive. A dog won't want to walk close to you if you just cause them pain. They're more likely to want to walk away from you!

We can't see the damage as it happens but I've personally lost a dog to complications caused by a COLLAPSED TRACHEA (1mm diameter space to breathe seen on the x-ray: she was blue and basically suffocating to death when I put her to sleep). This may seem like a horrible thing to share but it's the reality of these dangerous training techniques.

Don't damage your dogs windpipe for the sake of "training". They need it. Sounds obvious, right?
