We wish to inform customers that the mill will be closed on Monday 4th for the May Day bank holiday.

Please ensure all orders for this period are placed promptly.

Any Tuesday bag orders should be placed no later than Thursday to ensure delivery.

Our YFCU presidential team have now left YFCU HQ in Belfast to undertake their 180km cycle to the AGM! 👏🏼✨

As there will be no deliveries on these days, Monday/Tuesday bag orders must be double-upped over the coming weeks.

The herd is currently averaging 37 litres, at 4.42% BF and 3.44% P, on twice a day milking; grazing in the summer but perfectly suited to a fully housed system with the capacity to produce big litres!

🐑 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 & 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 🐑

With lambing season upon us, our technical team have compiled some top-tips to help ensure your flock get the best start possible!👇

🐑 Body condition score (BCS) ewes in mid-pregnancy to allow sufficient time to alter condition
🔢 Scan ewes and group according to number of lambs & due date
🌱 Complete a forage analysis to determine supplementation levels

🥇 Select a quality ewe ration like our Supreme Sheep 20 pellet and feed based on scanning results, BCS & forage quality
⏳ Don’t delay concentrate feeding - 70% of foetal growth occurs in the final 6 weeks when appetite can be reduced by 30%!
💧 Ensure an adequate supply of fresh clean water - A ewe in early lactation can require up to 9 litres per day!
