The canine client is experiencing hair loss and irritation, potentially due to unknown allergies. While the owner is collaborating closely with veterinarians to identify the cause, the client still requires regular grooming sessions.
In light of this, certain adjustments are made during the grooming session to benefit the skin, coat, and comfort of the dog. Firstly, a cooler temperature of water will be used for washing to soothe the skin. Subsequently, a gentle hypoallergenic shampoo will be used to cleanse and remove dirt, followed by a second wash with a veterinary-recommended medicated shampoo. The medicated shampoo will be left to soak for 5-10 minutes before rinsing to create a light barrier on the skin, thereby blocking allergens and promoting healing.
During the drying process, a lighter flow of air will be employed and maintained at a cool setting. This is to prevent heat buildup in affected areas and avoid opening hair follicles, where allergens may accumulate.
This doggo leaves happy & without further flare ups giving a valuable maintenance to the situation.
