Osteoarthritis doesn’t always look like limping!

In dogs, the signs of osteoarthritis can be subtle and easy to overlook. You might notice changes in your dog’s behaviour, less enthusiasm for walks, stiffness after resting, or difficulty getting comfortable. These little changes can be early clues that your dog is experiencing joint discomfort.

The good news? There are ways to help manage osteoarthritis and keep your furry friend comfortable, mobile, and enjoying the activities they love.

If you’ve noticed any of these changes in your dog, don’t brush them off. Early recognition and a conversation with your veterinary team can make a meaningful difference in their long-term comfort and quality of life.

The good news? There are many ways we can help manage OA and keep your feline friend comfortable! From maintaining a healthy weight and supporting joint health, to pain management and physical rehabilitation, a tailored treatment plan can help your cat stay happy and active.

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!

Veterinary technicians are truly the heart of a veterinary clinic, and we are so lucky to have two amazing RVTs on our team!

From anesthesia and exceptional patient care to supporting our clients, keeping our clinic running smoothly, and everything in between, Paige and Holly do so much behind the scenes to ensure our patients receive the very best care.

Paige is usually the one behind our social media posts, so we had to sneak in and take over this week to make sure both of these wonderful ladies know just how much they are appreciated!

The knowledge, compassion, dedication, and hard work that Paige and Holly bring to our clinic every single day do not go unnoticed. Our team genuinely wouldn’t be the same without them!

To Paige and Holly, THANK YOU for everything you do, for the love you show our patients, and for being such an important part of the Conestoga Veterinary Clinic family.

This October, Conestoga Veterinary Clinic is proud to participate in Fundraise for Farley Month in support of the Farley Foundation.

The Farley Foundation is an Ontario charity that helps people experiencing financial hardship access essential veterinary care for their pets. Through participating veterinary clinics, the Foundation provides financial assistance toward the treatment of sick and injured pets when their families may otherwise be unable to afford their care.

Throughout the entire month of October, we’ll be raising funds, and there are a few different ways you can join us!

Make a Donation
We’re accepting cash donations in clinic, or you can donate online by scanning the QR code on our Farley Foundation posters. Every contribution, big or small, helps provide veterinary care to pets and families in need.

Purchase a Pet First Aid Kit for $20
We’re putting together our very own Conestoga Veterinary Clinic Pet First Aid Kits! Kits will be made to order for $20 each, with all proceeds donated to the Farley Foundation. Kits will be made by the first week of November, and we will contact you when they are ready.

Enter Our Fall Raffle
We’ve put together three fall-themed prize baskets with something for everyone.

Please notify us if you are interested.

Our goal is to raise $500 this October, and we’d love your help getting there! Whether you donate, buy a raffle ticket or first aid kit, or simply help us spread the word, every bit of support counts.

Continuing Education Spotlight!

A big congratulations to our Lead CSR, Jacqueline, on completing her RECOVER Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses.

We’re so proud of Jacqueline for taking on these courses and completing them with ease! This is a great accomplishment and an important step in building her knowledge and confidence when it comes to emergency and critical care.

Continuing education is an important part of what we do here at CVC. We believe that supporting our team’s growth and development allows us to provide the best possible care to our patients and clients.
