☀️🦟 June 1 is here, which means heartworm prevention season has officially begun!

Heartworm disease is spread by mosquitoes and can cause serious disease affecting the heart and lungs. The good news is that it’s easily preventable with monthly medication.

Today is the day to start your dog’s heartworm prevention for the season. If you haven’t picked up your pet’s medication yet, give us a call—we’ll be happy to get everything ready for you.

Meet Max! 🐾

Max is joining us at Eldale this summer for an 8-week externship from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). Over the next couple of months, he’ll be gaining hands-on experience alongside our team while helping care for all of your furry family members. 🐱🩺

We’re proud to regularly host veterinary students from OVC and beyond, and love being part of the next generation’s journey into veterinary medicine. Be sure to say hi if you see Max around the clinic this summer!

While her before look had plenty of personality, her fresh groom has her looking and feeling her best ✂️✨

Regular grooming is about so much more than appearance. Keeping your pet’s coat clean and maintained helps prevent painful matting, reduces skin irritation, improves comfort, and gives us a chance to catch lumps, bumps, parasites, or skin concerns early. For many dogs, especially longer-haired breeds, routine grooming is an important part of their overall health care routine.

Safe to say Hattie is feeling pretty proud of her post-spa glow-up 💕

Warning – a little bit of a sappy post from Dr. Nikki ❤️

Recently, I had the privilege of helping a deeply loved senior dog across the rainbow bridge. Her family shared stories of a life full of love, and it was a powerful reminder of the bonds we’re lucky to witness in this job.

And today, I got to meet this sweet girl — a brand new beginning.
