A pup with normal activity levels should receive ā€œmaintenance energyā€ whereas a lap dog requires just about 10% of that. An active pupper who exercises outdoors regularly would likely need an additional 20-40% than your average dog. Adjusting portion sizes is normal as you learn your dogā€™s ideal maintenance amount.
