Imagine being loved so much that even a 30-second absence deserves the happiest reunion. 🥹💙

That’s the kind of love Hunter has to give. And right now, this sweet boy needs someone willing to open their home to him.

Hunter is just over a year old, full of personality, and absolutely adores his people. He’s playful, affectionate, fully house-trained, and happiest when he’s included in everyday life. Whether it’s going for a walk, playing with his toys, or curling up for a cuddle, Hunter just wants to be part of someone’s world. 🐾

🏡 Hunter’s ideal foster home:
❗️ A securely fenced yard is a must!
👧🏻 Older, dog-savvy children (10+)
🐶 Potentially another compatible dog, with proper introductions
🐱No cats
🩵 Someone committed to keeping him safe and secure, as he can be a flight risk

🌟 VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH: HOLLY 🌟

Some people help keep a rescue running. Holly is one of the reasons ours exists. 💛

As one of the founders and directors of It Takes A Village, Holly has poured her heart and soul into this rescue, and we’re pretty sure there isn’t a job she hasn’t taken on!

From airport runs and shuffling supplies to leading fundraisers and events like our Rescue Brew b**r label fundraiser, Holly is somehow everywhere, doing everything, all at once. She also leads our veterinary team here at home, helping coordinate care for all the babies in our rescue. Most recently, she practically single-handedly organized and led a veterinary clinic in Pangnirtung, Nunavut!

And somehow, in the middle of ALL of that, she still finds room in her home and heart to foster, including her adorable palliative foster Loki, who has become our unofficial ITAV mascot over the years. 🐾❤️

Now, does she occasionally bring a little chaos along for the ride? Absolutely. 😂 She might forget to pack anything other than flip-flops for a trip to Nunavut, but you can guarantee she’ll find a way to squeeze just a few more puppies onto the plane for their chance at a better life.

And that’s Holly. Someone who will move mountains, figure out the impossible, and do absolutely anything for the animals who need her. No task is too big, no challenge too complicated, and apparently, no plane is ever quite full enough. 🐶

Holly, when we say “you name it, she does it,” we mean it. There are simply too many things you do, too many lives you’ve touched, and too many ways you’ve helped this rescue grow to ever fit into one post.

Thank you for your enormous heart, your endless determination, your compassion, and every single thing you do behind the scenes that so often goes unseen. So many animals have a second chance because you refused to give up on them.

We are so incredibly grateful for you, Holly. Our village wouldn’t be the same without you, and we are very, very lucky to have you. 💛🐾

A HUGE thank you Pet Valu Manotick and everyone who contributed to June’s PAW Month campaign! Thanks to this wonderful community, our Village received an INCREDIBLY generous $3,509 donation, along with a box overflowing with toys, treats, chews, and harnesses for the dogs in our care. 🐶💕

Every donation makes a difference. From keeping our dogs happy and comfortable while they wait for their forever families to helping us continue saying YES to dogs who need us, your generosity goes so much further than you might realize.

🚨 15+ DOGS AND PUPPIES ARE WAITING FOR US TO SAY YES. BUT WITHOUT FOSTER HOMES, WE CAN’T. 💔

Right now, we have a growing list of dogs and puppies desperately waiting for their chance to come into rescue. We want to help every single one of them, but we’re facing a heartbreaking reality: we simply don’t have enough open foster homes.

Every day without a foster means another day these dogs have to wait. Every extra day they wait increases the chance that they won’t make it.

Our sweet little guy recently received a much-needed glow-up, and we can hardly believe the transformation! Just look at that adorable face hiding underneath all that fluff! 🥹💙

🐾💚 THE CLINIC IS OVER, BUT THE WORK CONTINUES! ❄️

Today, our team has been busy organizing paperwork, reviewing medical records, and figuring out which dogs will need vaccine boosters and follow-up care. 🩺🐕

They also managed to squeeze in a little exploring, visiting a local museum to learn more about the history and culture of the beautiful community that’s welcomed us so warmly! 💚

We’ve been working with the Pangnirtung community for years, and being able to offer our very first veterinary clinic here feels like an exciting new chapter in that relationship! As this visit winds down, we’re already looking forward to the possibilities of bringing even more veterinary care and support to the community in the future. 🐾

A huge thank you to Dr. Mark VanCampen and RVT Jayda from Renfrew Animal Hospital, and to The Eric S. Margolis Foundation, whose incredibly generous grant made this entire initiative possible. 🐾💚
