Arnold is only 10 weeks old, and he’s already learning the foundations of great leash skills! 🐾

Today we’re introducing loose leash walking using a clear marker system to reward the right choices, along with low-level vibration as gentle feedback when needed. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s helping Arnold understand what earns success while building confidence every step of the way.

Small steps today create reliable dogs tomorrow. 💙🐶

Chief’s First Big Adventure! 🐾🌊

A little while ago we introduced everyone to Chief, a 14-month-old Akita × Bernese Mountain Dog mix, who has been working through online training with his family.

We’re so excited to share that all of their hard work is paying off! ❤️ Thanks to their dedication and consistency, Chief recently joined his family on an incredible trip to Valdez, Alaska. Together they explored historic mine shafts, met new friends, and experienced the ocean for the very first time.

It’s safe to say… Chief fell in love with the ocean! 🌊

One of his future training goals is building the reliability and confidence needed for safe off-leash adventures, so one day he can enjoy swimming in the ocean with his family.

I couldn’t be prouder of Chief and his family. Their commitment to training has opened the door to the adventures they’ve always dreamed of sharing together. Watching dogs gain the skills and confidence to fully experience life with their families is exactly why I love what I do.

Congratulations, Chief—you’ve earned every bit of this adventure, and I can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next! 🐾💙

Fyre is spending a few days with us for boarding while her dad is away, and we’re making the most of it with some training! 🐾

Today’s challenge: walking past multiple fenced dogs that were barking, charging the fence, and creating a very high-pressure environment. Instead of reacting, Fyre worked through it with verbal guidance, taking a short pause to reset when she needed it before continuing on.

Only one vibration was needed for her to start regulating — good timing, clear communication, and giving her the space to think through the situation. That’s what real progress looks like: building confidence, making better choices, and keeping stress manageable. ❤️🐕

🐾 What training looks like at CanineSidekicks! 🐾

Meet some of the dogs currently training with us:

🐶 Arnie – a 10-week-old German Shorthaired Pointer puppy working through our IncrediPup Program, building confidence, focus, and essential life skills.

🐶 Carl – a 6-year-old Border Collie mix making incredible progress in one of our Recovery Programs. Carl has earned off-leash privileges and has begun working in short training sessions without a muzzle.

🐶 Ghost – a German Shepherd enjoying a short boarding stay with us while his family is away.

Every dog has their own journey, and we’re proud to be part of it. ❤️

This is Arnold 😍

“Arnie” is a 10 week old German Shorthaired Pointer who is here to work his way through my IncrediPup program.

Arnie’s development will include crate training, potty training, leash skills, sit, down, wait, grooming desensitization, and social skills with humans and other dogs.

Arnie comes from my friend Clarity Kennels. Through her breeding program, Arnie has received a ton of development already. His customized board and train program, will help him continue his education on the right track so Arnie can be a happy and balanced adult for his new family (including another GSP named Palmer 😂❤️).
