This older gentleman was found running loose on highway 7 last night in Havelock near Mary Street. A Good Samaritan picked him up on his way to the airport and brought him to us for safekeeping until his owners can be found! Unfortunately he is not microchipped.

Please call the clinic if you recognize this fellow! He’s very sweet, has a brown leather collar, and is neutered. We’re confident someone out there is missing him! ♥️ Proof of ownership will be required.

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH!🎉

Sierra is a newer addition to the KVEC team, but has fit right in like she’s always been here! She says she likes vet med because the patients (quite literally) keep her on her toes, and there’s always something new to learn. Sierra is lighthearted, compassionate, and always up for helping a patient in need with a big smile on her face.

When she’s not working, she’s snuggled up to her potbelly pig, Winni! 🐽

Thank you for all of your hard work, and positive attitude, Sierra! 🎉

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH 🎉

Introducing Kayla! Kayla is another incredible night shift ACA who makes sure the pets who have to stay the night in hospital are comfortable, warm, and feel cared for as though they were home. Whether it’s hand feeding, or simple one on one attention, Kayla says her favourite part of the job is ensuring the pets are less anxious about their stay. ♥️

Kayla is pictured with her little (now BIG!) Dane, but she’s got 4 big doggies and a cat at home!

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to your patients, Kayla!

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH!🎉

Happy Good Friday from ACA Sam and her adorable Dobie, Jada. Sam might take the cake for being the mind-reader of the clinic - any time the staff ask her for something, she’s already got it in her hand! She’s just THAT good - probably from her many years of experience with ER medicine. Sam is also particularly good at making the coziest beds for our sick pets, and always goes the extra mile to improve the comfort of our scared patients. 🩷

Thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and compassion, Sam! 💕

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH!🎉

Say hello to our incredible animal care assistant, Bree! She’s another dedicated nightshifter, who is thoughtful, compassionate, and hardworking. Bree says she loves the ER because she gets to learn new things every single day! Whether she’s providing warmed blankets to patients in the chilly nighttime or making a smorgasbord of snacks to try to entice a pet to eat, she approaches every shift with a huge heart.

She is pictured here with her adorable ram, Eeyore! 😍🐏

Thank you for your incredible dedication while the rest of the world is sleeping, Bree! 🩷

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH🎉

We continue along our introductions with Sam, who’s an absolute rockstar of an ACA. Sam works full time in general practice and also part time night shifts with us! Sam says her favourite part of her job is ensuring every patient is cared for as though it were her own pet, and it shows! Sam is often found on the floor hand-feeding nervous patients, or snuggled up with them at night giving them the cuddles they are missing from home.

Sam is snuggled up here with her two cats, Simba and Morty, and her sweet doggie Luna. 🩷

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to your patients, Sam!

🎉ACA APPRECIATION MONTH🎉

We’re kicking off our ACA appreciation spotlight with Paige, who’s been an incredible ACA since 2014. She says she was drawn to ER medicine because it’s ever-changing, fast-paced, and every day is different. Paige is excellent at making the cosiest beds for our patients, to make them feel like they’re home away from home. ♥️ Paige is pictured here with her boxer Lyla, and her Basset Hound, Wallace!

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to your patients, Paige!

Tis the season! The spiky kitties are starting to come out and play, and springtime is the most common time we see dogs come in with a face full of quills. Be cautious while hiking with your dogs, and if your dog does end up getting quilled, please call us! 📞It can make things much worse to attempt to remove them yourself, not to mention it’s very painful!
