Is that a tick? How big are ticks? How do they compare to other insects? Ticks are parasitic arachnids; they are part of the spider family of insects. This graphic by e-tick can help you identify ticks. There are many different species of ticks, like deer ticks, Lone Star ticks, and American dog ticks. It's difficult to identify tick species unless you are looking under a microscope, and even then, it can be difficult if you haven't had the proper training. If you are unsure which parasite prevention product is right for your cat, contact our veterinary team.

Today, we light a flame of hope. It's World Su***de Prevention Day. Did you know that veterinary professionals have higher su***de rates than other professions? More than 25% of veterinarians in Canada report having thoughts about su***de. That's why raising awareness for su***de prevention is so important to us.
If you or someone you know needs help, or you want to learn more about how to have these difficult conversations, please check out these resources:

One month until it's time to fundraise for the Farley Foundation, and we are already purrparing! Last year, we were one of the top fundraisers for Farley Month! Combined with our sister clinic, Merivale Cat Hospital, we raised over $20,000! Congratulations to Mississippi Veterinary Services for fundraising the most for Farley Month last year.

The results are in! 🌟 We’re excited to share that thanks to the incredible support of over 315 veterinary clinics and lots of generous donors, our 2024 Fundraise for Farley Month campaign raised over $275,000! 🙌

Special congratulations to our top fundraisers: Mississippi Veterinary Services (for the fourth year in a row!) which raised $15,000, and Bytown Cat Hospital, which raised over $12,400!

Thank you to everyone who donated and all the clinics that took part. Your dedication and generosity have made a real difference! Together, we’re making a positive impact in the lives of animals everywhere🐾❤️
