One little yes can make a world of difference. 🤍

Remember this sweet girl we were trying to bring into our care? Well, thanks to some wonderful people who stepped up and offered to quarantine foster, she arrived safely yesterday! 🥹

We are SO grateful to have a community that continues to grow and show up for dogs who need us. Because someone was willing to open their heart and home, she now has a chance at a much brighter future.

We still have some questions about that swollen belly of hers, including whether there might be puppies in there! 🐶 We’re hoping to have some answers tomorrow, so stay tuned!

As the temperatures continue to drop, we’re reminded just how many dogs are still out there waiting for somewhere warm and safe to land.

If you have a spare room, heated garage, or other space to offer, please consider becoming a quarantine foster. It’s just 7-10 days of your time, but for a dog like this little lady, it can change the course of their entire life.

Sometimes all it takes is someone saying yes. 🐾🤍

Can we give this sweet girl a little extra love today? 🍂🧡

When Autumn first came into our care, she was understandably scared and unsure of the world around her. But with a little love, patience, and encouragement, we’ve watched her confidence grow, and she’s absolutely thriving!

Autumn is such a sweetheart! She’s smart, playful, affectionate, and has been doing SO well learning all the things that come with being a puppy. It’s been so lovely watching her come out of her shell and seeing her personality shine through!

At just six months old, Autumn has already come such a long way, and we would love nothing more than to see her find a family who adores her as much as we do.

Could Autumn be the perfect addition to your family? We’d love to see your application! 🍂🏡

A little dose of sunshine for your feed! ☀️

Our Yellow litter pups are officially five weeks old, and these four little ladies are growing like weeds!

Dijon, Butter, Goldie, and Canola are getting bigger by the day, and their little personalities are starting to shine through. Meanwhile, Mama Ray continues to be an absolute superstar, taking wonderful care of her girls.

It’s hard to believe these little nuggets will be ready to start their next chapters in just a few short weeks. If you’d like to welcome a little sunshine into your life, we’d love to see your adoption application! 🏡

🏠 Before the transformation begins…

We’ve shared the exciting news about our new home, and as you can see, we have some work ahead of us!

Thanks to an incredibly generous private benefactor who purchased this building specifically for Sheep River Dog Rescue, we’ve been given an amazing opportunity to establish a permanent home right here in Okotoks. 💙

But while the building itself has been secured, there’s still a lot of work to do and some significant expenses ahead of us.

As a 100% volunteer-run rescue, we rely entirely on donations to fund our work. With our new home comes the responsibility of covering monthly rent and ongoing operating costs, as well as the renovations needed to transform the building into a safe and functional space for the dogs in our care and the community we serve.

🧱 That’s where our Brick by Brick campaign comes in!

We’re inviting individuals, families, and local businesses to help us bring this vision to life, one brick at a time!

Supporters who contribute to our Brick by Brick campaign will receive permanent recognition on our donor wall, along with a charitable tax receipt for eligible donations.

We have three contribution levels:

🧱 $1,000
🧱 $2,500
🧱 $5,000+

Our vision is to create a safe, welcoming space that allows us to help more dogs in need while offering greater support, resources, and educational opportunities to the community we serve.

Every contribution to our Brick by Brick campaign helps bring that vision closer to reality, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Sponsor a brick today and help us create a lasting impact for dogs in need, one brick at a time. Thank you! 💙🐾

Every dog has their own unique road to finding their forever home, and Tyr is no exception. ❤️

Tyr has experienced plenty of ups and downs throughout his adoption journey, making the happy ending to his story that much more special.

Tyr is now settling into his forever home on the beautiful East Coast, and one look at his photo tells you everything you need to know, he’s found his peace and happiness. 🏡❤️

And what makes this happily ever after even more special? His new adopted brother is Stanley, a fellow SRDR alum! 🐾

Happy tails, Tyr! You’ve found your happily ever after! ❤️🏡

📣 Quarantine foster needed! Can someone make temporary room for Wolfie?

Remember the two dogs we met during our trip to pick up the Xerox litter? We’re hoping to bring them both into our care before winter sets in.

Meet Wolfie! We haven’t stopped thinking about this sweet guy since we met him. We’ve already secured a quarantine foster for his friend, but Wolfie is still waiting.

With winter quickly approaching, we’re worried about him having to endure another harsh Alberta winter outdoors. We desperately want to get him somewhere safe and warm, but we can’t bring him into our care until we have a quarantine foster lined up.

All Wolfie needs is a warm, safe space where he can remain separated from other animals. This could be a spare room in your home or even a heated garage or barn. It’s a short-term commitment of just 7-10 days.

If you’re able to offer Wolfie a safe place to stay, please reach out as soon as possible. We don’t want him to face another winter alone.

Please help us bring Wolfie to safety. 🤍
