Let’s try and make a difference this weekend! 🤍

This weekend, 250-300 horses aprroximately will be at auction. Some will find loving homes or go to rescues (many are full), but others risk being sold to meat buyers.

By purchasing a hat, you’re directly helping us rescue and care for these horses. Every $40 hat helps support, including vet care, farrier, dental work, and rehab. If we can’t save one this weekend, we’ll keep raising funds until we can meet their needs financially. I sure know my heart can 😅

Hoping we can make an impact this weekend 🤍

It has been estimated that there will be 250-300 horses headed to auction this weekend. Some will find great homes, some will head to rescues but sadly some of their stories will end if they get bid on by meat buyers.

If we can raise enough through hat purchases, we’ll be heading to the auction to rescue and bring one home. Every $40 hat purchase directly supports their care, and additional donations will help us provide for their vet, farrier, dental care, and rehabilitation. If we can’t make it happen this weekend we will save untill we can be sure we can support all their needs.

Sunny is officially forsale🌞

Sunny is a striking 18-year-old dappled buckskin gelding, standing at approximately 15.3hh. (Teeth verified by an equine dentist) He’s a charming horse with a lovely, friendly personality that makes him a barn favorite.

While I don’t have a full history on Sunny, I do have videos of him barrel racing and running poles. He also reportedly had extensive trail miles under his belt. With me, he’s enjoyed a variety of activities, including arena riding, obstacle work, lead-line lessons,trail rides and some barrel work.

Sunny has a natural, forward stride and is confident on the trails, where he really shines. He is not spooky and not much phases him. He is broke and knows the basics: neck reins ok, haunches, forehand, and side-passes. That said, he would benefit from some refresher work on soft body control and responsiveness. While he’s a solid horse, I wouldn’t describe him as “fancy broke” and he does have a quirk I would be happy to discuss in detail to interested buyers. Saying that I would recommend him to an intermediate or experienced rider who can continue to work with him to refine his skills.

Sunny is easy to handle – he loads, bathes, ties, and trims with ease. He’s not a chewer, cribber, or pawer, and is easy to catch. He gets along well with other horses and keeps easily . He is up-to-date on his teeth, farrier, vaccines, wormer, and body work. Currently, he is on a conditioning regimen that is helping him regain muscle and weight, and I’m happy to discuss his current program and supplements with any interested buyers.

Sunny is located in High River, and we have an indoor arena available for trials. I had planned to keep him in training longer, but I’m heading out of the country in January and would prefer to see him go to a new home before then. PPE welcomed at buyers expense

Asking price is in the mid 4 figures.

Took sunny out on a trail ride! He loved it 🌞

He was very forward and confident on the trails, didnt seem phased by much, a bike, dog, icy water crossing etc and he carried on like a gem. From what I know he was used alot on trails!

He wanted to trot a few times but was easily corrected! He was able to lead or follow. He needs a little bit more education for oppening gates but I was able to accomplish it with patience.

I would say sunny would best suit a confident rider and up!

Ps sunny will be officially listed for sale soon as hard as it is to let the good ones go I know he will make someone happy!

Sunny got spoiled by some little kids yesterday and had a wonderful lesson under lead line 🤍🙌

Sunny got his second treatment from In Stride Osteopathy and he had retained his first treatment super well which is exciting! She said he felt like a different horse, which I agree as under saddle he is remarkably better! We will continue to work on his exercises, and management to keep him on track.

Thanks Kali again for getting sunny feeling great!

Apollo has been officially sold and will be going off to his new home 💛

He has been one of my most favourite c**ts I’ve had the pleasure to start! Cant wait to see what he accomplishes! Very grateful for people who trust in me to put a solid foundation on their c**ts!

🌞💛Every horse that comes through my care leaves a piece of themselves behind in my heart. Watching them grow, heal, and shine is nothing short of magical. Letting them go is never easy—it’s bittersweet, as my bond with each one grows stronger every day.

But moments like this? Getting updates from their new families, seeing them happy, healthy, and thriving in homes where they are truly loved? That’s why I do it. That’s why I keep rescuing.

It’s a reminder that every bit of the hard work, every tear, and every goodbye is worth it. Knowing they are safe and cherished brings me so much peace.

To all the families who open their hearts to these horses: thank you. You are the reason I and others can keep doing what we do.

Sunny is doing great and feels so much better after his osteopath treatment 🙌 He will be slowly brought into work and will eventually be listed for sale once we know more about him under saddle!

Apollo is finished his training with me- and will be listed once Canadian horses to move the end of November!

Had Kali from In Stride Osteopathy come work on Sunny yesterday!

Sunny was showing some signs of pain under saddle and was carrying himself improperly! Thankfully Kali was able to identify a few areas that were cause of concern and get some mobility back and pain relief. Sunny was very restricted in his lumbar and pelvis which would cause a ton of issues throughout his body.

With proper farrier care, exercises, and a few more treatments we should get him feeling back on track.
