It’s called water intoxication, and it can happen when dogs play in water for a long period of time, especially if they’re fetching toys or biting at water sprays.

⚠️ Signs of water toxicity include:
- Lethargy or confusion
- Vomiting
- Weakness or wobbliness
- Seizures (in severe cases)

To help prevent it:
✔️ Take frequent breaks from playing in the water
✔️ Avoid long fetch sessions in the lake or with sprinklers
✔️ Supervise them closely and limit how much water your dog swallows

If you notice symptoms after a day by the water, give us a call or head to your nearest emergency veterinary hospital!
