8/18/2025: CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS! Thank you!

FOR ADOPTION: This is Melody. She is 10 weeks old, part German Shepherd, part Husky, and all adorable chaos. 💙 With her crystal blue eyes, she is already turning heads while turning the whole world into her playground. Rescued from the Northern Ontario wildfires, Melody is busy soaking up every bit of fun she can find.

She wrestles with her dog friends, she’s got a weird obsession with lemons 🍋, and when she finally runs out of steam, she crashes hard in the middle of the floor like a tiny tornado that just burned out.

She is still a baby and will need to learn the important stuff like house training, leash manners, and how not to trip over her own paws. The good news is she is smart, curious, and eager to figure it all out with her people.

Melody is silly, snuggly, and guaranteed to keep you laughing. If you are ready for a puppy who will steal your socks and your heart, she is your girl.

If you think you would be a good match, head over to www.teamdogrescue.ca/adoptables to fill out an application form 🐾 a

How do you know when to rush your pet to the veterinary hospital and when to watch them at home? Our experts at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center explain!

Ready for a hike? Don’t forget to check that the trail is pet friendly and pack essentials such as water, treats, a pet first aid kit, and p**p bags. When you’re home, check your dog for ticks (which can be as small as a poppy seed) or injuries.

FOR ADOPTION: Hi! My name is Lyric, and I’m a 9-week-old bundle of puppy energy, curiosity, and joy. I’m learning all about this big, exciting world — and I’m hoping to find a family who’ll help me discover it all.

I’m getting the hang of potty training, but I’m still a baby, so I’ll need a patient person who can guide me and cheer me on. I’m also trying to figure out this whole “leash” thing — not totally sold on it yet, but with gentle encouragement, I know I’ll get there.

I’ve been thinking about puppy school (once I’m fully vaccinated) so I can learn my manners, pick up new skills, and meet other pups. I think I’d love it!

One of my favourite things is splashing in the little puppy pool at my foster’s house, then zooming around the yard until I flop over for a nap. A fully fenced backyard would be amazing for me — I’ve got plenty of energy to burn and would love a safe space to play.

Because I’m still so young, I’d do best with someone who’s home more often than not to give me love, guidance, and potty breaks. I’d be thrilled to have a canine sibling to learn from, but I’d be just as happy soaking up all the attention as an only pup.

If you think I could be the missing note in your life, send in an application — that would truly be music to my ears. 🎵

My adoption app can be found here: https://teamdogrescue.ca/you-can-help/adopt/adoption-application/ and emails with questions can be sent to my adoption coordinator, Michele, at [email protected]

Thank you!

Planning a backyard barbecue? Keep your furry friends safe:

☀️Keep food scraps away from pets - cooked bones can splinter and fatty foods cause stomach upset. Onions, garlic, and grapes are toxic.

☀️Create a safe zone away from hot grills, lighter fluid and charcoal. Store all barbecue supplies securely.

☀️Provide fresh water and watch for signs of overheating in the summer heat.

☀️Secure gates and doors - with guests coming and going, pets can easily slip out.

WELCOME TO OUR RESCUE: Sometimes, there’s no explanation, just a really great dog in need of a fresh start.

We don’t know how it happens. Sometimes, amazing dogs like this majestic canine end up with nothing—no home, no family, no reason why. And while we wish we had more of his story to tell, all we know is this: he is perfect.

Just perfect.

He is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix with the soul of a gentleman and the heart of a loyal friend. He’s 80 pounds (and still growing!), but don’t let his size fool you—he knows the tiny chihuahua in his foster home is the true boss, and he treats him with all the respect a pack leader deserves.

Gentle, kind, and incredibly well-behaved, he is everything you could ever want in a dog—just love, loyalty, and a quiet wish to belong.

Please welcome, David, to our rescue.
