💥 Donations Matched by Kathy Klassen Financial and Winkler Auto Dealers
🎯 $725 of $1,000 raised

How do donations make a difference? Let’s talk about Indigo.

Indigo and her brother Marco were abandoned on someone’s property and left mostly outdoors. When they came into our care, they knew very little about human interaction or training. They didn’t want to be touched and mostly kept to themselves.

Over the course of six months, our staff and volunteers worked patiently with them, helping them build trust, learn new skills, and slowly come out of their shells.

And then something even better happened, they were adopted!

Today, Indigo is thriving in her new home, and her adopter recently shared this sweet update:

“I was looking for a friend for my collie, Keeta. I came across Indy and after reading her story, I knew I needed to meet her.
When I got to PVHS, I fell in love instantly. Keeta was accepting but a bit tentative.
Indy came home and immediately started chewing everything (we’re still working on that!)
But over time, Indy and Keeta became the best of friends. If one is out of sight, the other worries.
They play together all the time—I definitely made the right choice.”

✨ When you donate, you’re helping dogs like Indigo get a second chance. And this week, your gift goes twice as far thanks to our matching sponsors:
Kathy Klassen Financial and Winkler Auto Dealers, who are matching donations up to $1,000.

Pax update! 🌟

Our staff have been working with Pax to build trust and gently introduce him to the world beyond the shelter. Last week, he soaked up some sunshine in the backyard. It was a little overwhelming at first, but he began to relax in the quiet outdoors.

Pax was the unfortunate victim of a dog attack and has been carrying the weight of that trauma. Working with shut-down dogs like Pax can be time-consuming and, at times frustrating, because we just want him to experience all the good things life has to offer. It’s going to be a long road, but we’re committed to helping him become his best self.

Dogs like Pax also need experienced team members who understand dog body language and communication. If you'd like to work hands-on with some of our dogs who need a little extra attention, please reach out to learn more about volunteering!

We’ve been keeping a secret… and it’s a big one! 🎉

After more than 200 days in our care, our longest stay resident Gracie has been adopted! 💕

It’s been a long road for this sweet girl, but our team never stopped believing there was a home out there for her and now she’s finally found it.

A huge thank you to her fosters and our amazing volunteers who helped keep Gracie happy and loved while she waited. This is the kind of ending we wait for!

By donating today, you're supporting vital community programs like our Be A Tree Dog Bite Prevention Program. This program is delivered in local schools and teaches kids how to safely interact with dogs by understanding their body language and learning how to approach them respectfully.

📊 Over 500,000 children are bitten by dogs every year in North America.
Many of these bites are preventable with proper education—and that's exactly what Be A Tree is all about.

Your donation helps us bring this important, life-saving program to more classrooms.

🧡 Give today, and your gift will be matched, doubling your impact for animals and children in our community.

🐾 Puppies on the move! 🐾

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stepped up to foster and donated when we took in an unexpected litter of 8 puppies. Each one has been vet-checked, vaccinated, and is healthy thanks to your support!

Because our waitlist is growing and foster resources are limited, we’ve decided to send most of these puppies to another province where they tend to find homes more quickly. This way, they get the best chance at loving families and we can free up space and time to care for other animals in need here.

If you’re interested in fostering and giving more animals a second chance, please visit our foster page to learn how you can help: https://pvhsociety.ca/how-to-help/foster/

We’re so grateful to our community for making this possible. Your kindness helps save lives every day!

Sometimes our website looks a little quiet when it comes to adoptables, but behind the scenes, it’s a different story.

Take Pax. He’s been with us for two weeks now, and he’s not ready for adoption. Honestly, he’s not even ready for much human interaction. He came to us completely shut down: scared, unsure, and keeping the world at a distance. We’d love to say he’s coming out of his shell, but the truth is, we’re still at the very beginning of his journey.

He’s just one of 18 animals currently in our care who aren’t quite adoptable yet for a variety of reasons. We’ll share more of his story as time goes on, and hopefully as we start to see little signs of trust.

If you'd like to help out behind the scenes, we are always looking for more volunteers! Whether it's fostering, animal care or dog walking, we can always use an extra hand.

💥Donations Matched by McBarn Kennels this week!
🎯 $200 of $1000 raised

Your gift goes twice as far this week to help kittens like these!

In just two years, our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program in the City of Morden has made a real difference. Nearly 50 kittens have come into our care, rescued from the streets and given a fresh start. Each one was fixed and adopted, and their moms were spayed and returned to stop the cycle of overpopulation.

We receive some funding to run this program, but it doesn’t cover the cost of vet care for the many kittens that come in. That’s where we rely on your support.

Right now, Mcbarn Kennels is matching donations up to $1,000, which means your gift can go twice as far to help the kittens coming into our care. With your help, we can continue to say yes when another litter needs us.

Thanks to this program, we’ve already prevented the birth of hundreds of kittens, saving lives and reducing the strain on local animal control.

This is what our Summer Match is all about, coming together to make a lasting impact!
Give today and have your donation matched!

Adopt Padfoot!

https://pvhsociety.ca/pet/padfoot/

🌟 RuffMutts VIPup Spotlight: Meet Padfoot! 🌟

Padfoot is the ultimate big-hearted goofball! 💙 He bonds fast, loves hard, and would be happiest as the only pet in a cozy home where he can truly shine.

This charming couch potato is a professional toy collector (but doesn’t actually play with them much!) and a true foodie who’ll do almost anything for a treat. He loves being close to his people, watching the world go by, and soaking up all the belly rubs he can get.

Padfoot has had a tough time in the shelter and dreams of a calm, loving home with someone who understands dog body language and can give him the peace he deserves.

As part of Padfoot's adoption, his new family will receive an adoption package that includes a bag of food, treats, a toy, a chew stick, and an in-store discount on any additional supplies! 💛

✨ Let’s help Padfoot find his forever family!
