This gal that can chat is speechless & overwhelmed. What started off as a normal Thursday wasn’t at all! You began popping into say good bye with cards & gifts, phone calls to hear your last “good morning, Baywood Animal Hospital, Susan speaking” lead to very special heartfelt conversations & tearful goodbyes. A “lunch & learn” turned into a surprize wood fire pizza retirement luncheon out back with the team hosted by Krista, Glen & Madeline McLean, pie makers & bakers extraordinaires! So sneaky and perfect! The BAH gals got me a gift card for Jeff Walters Jewellers, which Iam looking forward spending this week! Thank you! Thank you! Definately feeling the love from all the amazing and very special notes. It has been such a true pleasure & my joy getting to know so many amazing people over the last 30 years. I strongly believe you give someone 5 minutes of your time you find a connection, besides loving pets of course. These connections we have made are real and I sincerly hope our paths cross in the future. You are left in good hands. Well wishes to all as I bid adieu with my usual & familar “bye for now”

After 30 incredible years and greeting thousands of wagging tails and friendly faces, we’re wishing a warm and well-deserved retirement to the amazing Susan! 🎉

What began as a maternity leave position soon turned into a second home-and Susan became a constant, compassionate presence in the lives of so many clients, patients, and staff.

From hanging out with our patients at the front desk to sharing stories with longtime clients her kindness has left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through our doors.

For years, she’s been the heart of our front desk, brightening every day with her warm smile and genuine love for both pets and pet parents.

Over the decades, she’s witnessed the growth and evolution of veterinary medicine, but her favourite part never changed: connecting with people and their beloved pets.🐶🐱

Susan would like to thank all the clients who’ve shared their lives, stories, and animals with her. Being part of this community-this family- has truly been her joy. 💛

Though she’ll miss everyone deeply, she hopes to cross paths on the trails, at a campsite, or maybe even a pickleball court! 🏔️🚲🌻

Here’s to your next adventure Susan-filled with camping, gardening, biking, and a whole lot of sunshine. ☀️
