To my amazing clients,

First, I want to say thank you. Your trust and support over the years have allowed me to do what I truly love, and I never take that for granted. ❤️

As we all know, the cost of just about everything has continued to rise. Like many small business owners, I’ve felt the pressure of increasing expenses, and in an effort to keep up, I’ve found myself trying to fit more dogs into my schedule.

The truth is… that’s not the kind of grooming experience I want to provide.

One of the things I’ve always been most proud of at Katie’s Dog Grooming is creating a calm, patient environment where each dog is given the time they need to feel comfortable and cared for. Lately, with busier days and tighter schedules, I’ve realized I’ve drifted away from that, and it’s something I want to change.

My goal moving forward is to slow things down a little, to create a calmer, less hectic atmosphere that is better for the dogs and better for me as a groomer. When we’re not rushing, dogs are more relaxed, grooming becomes a more positive experience, and I’m able to give every pet the attention they deserve.

To make that possible, there will be a price adjustment effective Monday, July 13th. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but it’s necessary for me to continue running my business in a way that reflects the quality of care I believe every dog deserves.

I also know that rising costs are affecting everyone, and I never want grooming to become a source of stress for your family. If you’re looking for ways to make appointments more affordable, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We can work together to customize your dog’s grooming schedule or services in a way that helps fit your budget while still keeping your pup happy, healthy, and comfortable.

Thank you for your understanding, your continued support, and for allowing me to care for your dogs. I truly believe that grooming is about so much more than a haircut, it’s about trust, patience, and creating a positive experience every single visit.

Sunday is my catch-up day.

Coffee in hand, paperwork spread across the table, booking dog grooming appointments, sending follow-up emails to real estate clients, preparing forms for upcoming condition dates, and getting organized for the week ahead.

One thing I’ve learned from working in real estate and running my own business is that the work doesn’t stop when Friday at 5:00 rolls around. Behind every showing, listing, sale, and client conversation are countless hours of preparation, follow-up, and attention to detail that happen outside of the traditional 9-to-5.

The flip side is that this career gives me something I truly value: flexibility. It allows me to be fluid with my schedule, be present for my family, enjoy time outdoors, and build a business around the life I want to live rather than the other way around. Some days that means working on a Sunday morning with a coffee beside me, and other days it means stepping away to enjoy a beautiful afternoon on the South Shore.

It’s a busy life, but it’s one I’m incredibly grateful for. Helping people with their real estate goals and caring for my grooming clients makes every cup of Sunday coffee worth it.

There’s something truly special about the South Shore. 🌊

From the peaceful mornings along the water to the sense of community that makes Mahone Bay feel like home, this place has always had my heart. It’s where I’ve chosen to build my life, raise my family, and continue putting down roots year after year.
