Skull Lake Aviary & Rescue Center We have dedicated our retirement to creating a bird sanctuary in our home. We cater to domestic birds and parrots.

We rescue without judgement and are available with advice as well. We believe in free flight, fresh fruit, veggies and quality pellets.

So happy for these two. Wilma, turquoise yellow-sided conure, lost her human recently and has been quite sad. Luckily Rio, turquoise conure, was very happy to welcome her to the flock. It was love at first sight. These two are adorable. :)

We are touched by the interest pooring in from all over the US, but unfortunatly, we can not ship to or from the US as of now. The avian flu risks have the boarders locked pretty tightly to avian transport. For the foreseeable future, we will only service Canada. 🇨🇦 🍁

Sugar is one year old! Bella is close behind him at 10 months. Such smart babies! They say "good morning, good night, I love you, what cha doing?." They say each other's names and so much more. Including Bella and her "Bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon pancakes. 🤣
Giant conversations are had where you can make out every few words. They really are amazing birds. We have one more Quaker on the way, Sugar's sister. A beautiful lutino Quaker. So excited to meet her. :)

Attention dog parents:

With cases of Parvo popping up all over NS and now NB, too, it is a good time to keep your dogs out of public places. Dog parks, pet stores, common dog walking trails are great places to pick up this killer virus. It is insanely contagious and can be carried by us on our person, shoes and clothing. The virus came in from Texas with a shipment of rescue dogs and is spreading like wildfire. :(

Sun conures are rare and endangered. They are much larger than a regular conure, a bit louder and so loving! ❤️ They are $1200. Babies come fully hand tame, DNA'd and leg banded.

It was 2 years ago today when I got the call for these two beauties. Thor and Mango. They were being fostered in a garage in Ontario. No windows and questionable surroundings.
We had them on a plane within 24 hours and I couldn't imagine life without them. 🥰

The Sunny boys are here for a visit with their parents. ❤️ They slept right in the cage with Mom and Dad. It amazes me that their parents let them in with babies in the nest. I can hardly give them food and water. 🤣 They are having a blast. It's like coming to Nanny's house. :)
