Today is “World Veterinary Day”! 🩺

🐶 This day is celebrated to recognize the vital contributions of veterinarians and other veterinary professionals in promoting animal health, welfare, and public safety. This year’s theme is “Animal Health Takes a Team” and we couldn’t agree more! We are so thankful to every one of our team members for their hard work, compassion, and positivity they show every day!

🐱 Do you have a veterinary professional in your life? Perhaps consider showing them some extra love and support today! You’d be surprised by how just a simple thank you can go a long way ☺️.

This week is Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week where we spend some extra time celebrating our fantastic receptionists! 🙌🏻🎉

Last up to be featured is our fantastic Lead Receptionist, Laura! Laura joined our team in 2009. She enjoys interacting with clients and keeping the reception area organized and running smoothly. Laura is a true “mom” and keeps a close eye on all the staff, ensuring we are doing okay, and even providing homemade treats on occasion!
In recent years with our growing team, Laura has taken on the role of training our new staff members at reception and with hospital protocols to help maintain our high level of client care.
She has a lovely big cat at home named Nick, who unfortunately wasn’t available the day of staff photos, but you can swipe to see how handsome and sweet he is! ➡️

Thank you for all the hard work you do Laura! 💙

(Also, a special shoutout to our Veterinary Assistants who double on our reception team: Haley, Sofia, and Kristina!)

First up is Holly! Holly joined our team in 2022, and she says she has never been happier. We will often hear her say “I love my job so much!” Her favourite part is getting to interact with all the clients and seeing how much everyone loves and cares for their pets. She is a fur mama to the best little Long Coat Chihuahua named Winnie who owns her heart! Holly looks forward to continuing to build bonds at Williamsburg Veterinary Hospital and laughing with all our awesome clients. Laughter is medicine!

Thank you for all the hard work you do Holly! 💙

P.S. ➡️ Swipe to see an adorable photo of Winnie!

Who else thinks the grey-speckled muzzle look is adorable? 🥹🙋‍♀️

Annual examinations are necessary for every pet, especially our senior pets, to ensure they are happy and healthy, stay up to date on legally required and recommended vaccinations, and receive any necessary medical management for their twilight years. For some senior pets, your vet may recommend bi-annual, or more frequent, exams to give your furry friend the best chance at a long and high-quality life!

Everyone say hello to Lady Byng!

💙 Lady Byng is 17 weeks old, she weighs 1.9kg, her vet was Dr. Angela, and she loves wand toys! 💙

Initial kitten examinations are essential for every pet to ensure they are happy and healthy, stay up to date on legally required and recommended vaccinations, and receive parasite prevention to protect them from disease-carrying parasites. It’s also the perfect opportunity for some early socialization and conditioning vet appointments to be fun and less scary for your new fur babies! (Hence the extra playtime for Lady Byng! 😸)

What better way to start your week than kitty tail hugs from this handsome fellow? 😻

Osito was here for his annual exam. A necessary vet visit for every pet to ensure they are happy and healthy, stay up to date on legally required and recommended vaccinations, and receive parasite prevention to protect them from disease-carrying parasites.
With the extra love (and treats!) we provide, it can be a fun experience for your pet too. Clearly Osito didn’t mind the visit! 🥰

Who remembers Todd with the floppy ear from last year? 🙋‍♀️ Well, he’s here to tell us he thinks he fixed it! He’s supposed to have TWO floppy ears right? 🐶

Todd came to visit us for his annual examination with a doctor. Annual examinations are necessary for every pet to ensure they are happy and healthy, stay up to date on legally required and recommended vaccinations, and receive parasite prevention to protect them from disease-carrying parasites.
We also love the opportunity to give your pet love and treats. Because of this, it can be a fun experience for your pet too!
