These two cuddle bugs absolutely love their laser treatments. Layla prefers to lie belly‑up for her sessions because, really, what could be better than belly rubs? Rocky, on the other hand, insists on sitting in Taylor’s lap. The comfy beds just aren’t good enough for him.

We kindly ask that you allow us to take your pet to the rehabilitation area for their sessions. This gives us the chance to bond with them and help them feel comfortable and relaxed during their treatment. We know this can seem like a big request, but rest assured that Taylor and Dr. Whelan keep them safe, calm, and well‑supported throughout their visit. If we ever need your assistance or feel your pet would benefit from you being involved, we will always let you know.

Hello everyone! We wanted to share a "small" update about our prescription requests. This photo shows just a few hours’ worth of medication requests during our busy flea, tick, and heartworm prevention season.

Please be patient with us as we work diligently to request, approve, order, and prepare your pet’s medications. For general food and medication orders, please allow 1–2 business days. For special‑order items, we recommend allowing 1–2 weeks before running out, as these take longer to arrive.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep your pets healthy.

Bravecto Quantum is a once‑a‑year injection for dogs that helps protect against fleas and ticks.

If you find it challenging to give your pet oral or topical flea and tick prevention, give us a call to see if your dog is a candidate for Bravecto Quantum.

May is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month, and our pets can feel the effects just as much as we do. Warmer weather brings pollen, dust, and other environmental triggers that can make breathing or skin comfort a challenge for sensitive pets.

Common signs to watch for include coughing, wheezing, increased breathing effort, sneezing, itchy skin, red ears, or excessive licking. If you notice any of these changes, it’s always best to check in with your veterinary team.

With proper diagnosis and treatment, pets with asthma or allergies can stay comfortable and enjoy the season safely. If you have concerns about your pet’s breathing or allergy symptoms, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.

Happy World Turtle Day!

We may not see many turtles at our clinic, but the ones who do come through our doors always make our day. World Turtle Day is a great reminder of how special these unique reptiles are and how important it is to protect them.

If you’re ever caring for a pet turtle, keep an eye on things like appetite changes, shell health, proper UVB lighting, and clean water as these make a huge difference in their overall wellbeing. If you ever have concerns about your shelled friend, we’re always happy to help.

Celebrate the turtles in your life today, big or small.

Hello Spring! After a wonderful and warm long weekend, we wanted to share these sweet pups enjoying the spring weather.

Pictured are Charlie, Bubbles, and Bean. Charlie recently received a shout‑out for his remarkable weight‑loss journey, and we are so proud of him.

Stay safe with those ticks this season. They do not play nice!

Today is National Rescue Dog Day, a day to celebrate the incredible dogs who have been given a second chance and the families who opened their hearts to them.

Rescue dogs come from all walks of life, and each one has a story worth telling. With patience, love, and proper care, they blossom into the most loyal companions. Whether they were adopted recently or years ago, today we honour their resilience and the joy they bring into our lives.

If you’ve welcomed a rescue dog into your family, give them an extra cuddle today. And if you’re considering adoption in the future, there are so many wonderful dogs waiting for their forever homes.

Feel free to send us photos of your rescue pups, we love seeing their happy faces.

This is Remi!

He has visited us a few times over the past week, and he still comes in happy to see everyone. Here he is showing off his favourite way to have his blood taken, sitting in Mikaela’s lap and enjoying some pets.

Mikaela is gently holding off his jugular vein, which is the most common site we use for blood collection. It gives us the best flow, and most pets prefer this method since many are not comfortable with their paws or legs being handled.

This little lovebug visited us today and instantly melted our team’s hearts. Ritchie had been with his forever family for less than 24 hours, and they brought him in right away to start his vaccines. Congratulations to this wonderful family on their snuggly, fluffy new addition. We can tell that he’s already so loved.

Thanks for the snuggle Ritchie!

Good morning, everyone!
Crosby would like to share just how much he enjoys his acupuncture sessions with our integrative medicine team.

These treatments support his comfort, mobility, and overall well‑being—and he relaxes so deeply during his appointments that he’s in no rush to get up afterward.

Two paws up from Crosby for integrative care and the benefits it brings.
