Hot weather can become dangerous for pets faster than many people realize.
Dogs can’t cool themselves the same way we do, which means heat stroke can happen quickly — even on days that don’t feel extremely hot.
Help keep your pet safe this summer:
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌅 Walk during cooler morning or evening hours
🏡 Keep pets indoors with air conditioning
🛟 Offer cooling mats, pools, or shaded rest areas
🧩 Use frozen enrichment toys for indoor fun
Watch for warning signs of heat stroke:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Heavy drooling
⚠️ Red gums
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhea
⚠️ Collapse
Young puppies and senior pets are especially at risk.
If you suspect heat stroke, seek veterinary care immediately.
