Veterinary Medicine is an extremely rewarding career. We are humbled and honoured that you allow us to love your pet alongside of you 💓

At Georgetown Animal Clinic, we take the health of our team very seriously and it is important that we take time to stop and "smell the roses" every so often.

This afternoon, our team will be taking the evening to be together, outside of the clinic, to focus on our mental health. Stepping away from all that is veterinary medicine and spending a few hours team building, decompressing and honestly, having a really good belly laugh makes us BETTER. Better employees but more importantly better human beings.

Our clinic will be closed as of 3:30pm this after. We will be back bright and early for you tomorrow. Thank you 💙

Introducing to the world, Gus! 😍

This little ladies man was just adopted and came in today for his first visit. He schmoozed his way through the clinic and we loved every moment of it!

🐈Everyone gushed over his big little man purrs while we listened to his heart beat!

🐈 OMG the eyes! Hearts = melted!

🐈 Admiring how regale he looked while getting vaccinated!

Thank you, Gus, for making our day!

After 12 years of working at GAC, Dr. Amanda has decided to expand her horizons, transitioning to a new opportunity. She made this decision with a heavy heart, as she loves her patients, clients, and the GAC team.

Dr. Amanda's last day is Wednesday June 25th. We will close the clinic from 12:30pm-2:00pm for staff to say farewell to Dr. Amanda.

Although we will miss working alongside Dr. Amanda, we are thankful for the friendships that have been created and through these bonds we will remain connected with her always.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Amanda for her years of commitment and congratulate her on her next adventure. We love you Dr. Amanda! 🥰🩷💕

🌞Hello Summer🌞

Raise your hand if this is your jam & you are excited!👋

By 4pm today it will feel like 45 degrees! 🔥

For us, we can easily recognize the signs of feeling warm and potentially overheating. For our pets, who have to wear fur coats in this weather, we often don't see the signs early enough.

⚠️Important things to do during these extreme temperatures:

🔥keep pets indoors (air conditioning, fans, cool mats, cooler places to access - basements, non-carpeted flooring etc)
🔥avoid taking your pet outdoors during the hours of 10am-6pm (the sun and pavement are HOT!)
🔥leave your pet at home (no pet should be in a car unless 100% of the time with the owner in the well air conditioned car)
🔥watch for panting, difficulty breathing, lethargy, drooling, etc
🔥lots of FRESH, COLD water available at all times (even add ice cubes to help)

If you think your pet is looking too warm, a cool compress to the groin area is the fastest way to cool down their body temperature then call us or the local emergency a call right away. Together we can assess and determine how concerned you need to be ❤️

Let's have a GREAT summer, with no heat stroke for anyone!
