Talk about lucky! Today we got to be a part of just a real true feel-good moment❤️

Laya, a 14 year old kitty, recently found herself surrendered to a local shelter. Her owner had passed and the family couldn't keep her. Such a difficult reality: what happens to your pet(s) if you can't continue to care for them? Will someone love them the way you did?

Today, someone said "yes, I will". And they adopted her. On her way to her new home, Laya stopped by the clinic to meet her new vet, Dr. Bansal & show off her new humans ❤️

We have seen SOOO many ticks over the last two weeks! We have a nice collection going at the front desk 🪲

Don't forget to give your monthly dose of prevention. And keep in mind - flea and tick prevention is year round in Ontario because we don't hit those consistently deep cold stretches.

🦟Also important to note - heartworm prevention works retro actively. That means you should give your dog their last dose of heartworm prevention in mid to late November. We are still seeing mosquitoes in October. Better to prevent than treat!!

"Rain drops keep falling on my head..."⛈️☔️

Unfortunately, with tomorrow's forecast, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our client appreciation day. Your safety and comfort are number one to us.

We are working on an alternative date so please stay tuned!! We will have an update next week!

Next Tuesday, we will be conducting our bi-annual inventory count.

Here's what you need to know:
-The clinic will close at 4pm that day
-Today is the last day to place orders for "special order" medications (e.g. anything we have to order from a special pharmacy as opposed to our regular supplier). Otherwise, the next order will be received the week of Oct. 6.
-Food orders placed the week must be pre-paid.
-Food orders will be placed up until Sept. 26. After that, food orders will be placed on Oct. 1 and received Oct. 2.

24 years ago hundreds of dogs stepped up to assist in the rescue efforts along side of countless men & woman after what history would recall as one of the most devastating days.

Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds & other brave canines played a key role in searching the rumble for survivors. Many playing a vital role in providing comfort amongst all the chaos.

Salty & Roselle are remembered for guiding their owners out of the World Trade Center from the 71st & 78th floors.

The last survivor was located by a rescue dog.

Today, we remember 🤍
