Once again, our community is shaken by another sudden loss. This week, May 2026 Texas DVM graduate Dr. Cierra Cadena, has passed away.

Veterinary medicine remains the top field of mental health struggles and su***de.

Despite the unbelievable joy our careers bring us, it's equally filled with anger, frustration and most of all guilt.
That is so hard to digest. The people who love your pet as much as you do are truly struggling.

Today we ask you to take a moment. Think of Dr. Cadena, a promising young veterinarian. Then think of your veterinary team. Do they need a verbal hug today? Could you be the one to provide that to them?
