🦷🐾 Sweet Maudie visited us at Petworks after being referred for facial swelling, dental disease, and concerns about an abscessed tooth. After an exam with Dr. Farrow and full-mouth dental X-rays, we confirmed that Maudie did indeed have an abscessed tooth.
Did you know?
When a tooth is severely abscessed, we often prescribe antibiotics before removing it. This helps reduce infection, inflammation, and swelling first — making anesthesia and surgery safer and more comfortable for your pet, while also improving healing and recovery.
After spending the day with us (and receiving plenty of cuddles 💕), Maudie successfully underwent a dental cleaning and had 4 teeth removed. She’ll be back to see us in 1–2 months to have her abscessed tooth taken care of once the infection has settled down.
Feel better soon, Maudie! 🐶🦷
