COVID-19
At Petworks Veterinary Hospital, the ongoing health and safety of our clients, their pets, and the dedicated team members that serve the community, is our top priority. We are committed to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment and adhere to a strict standard of protocols to achieve this.
As you have heard, the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is occuring in Canada with cases reported in several provinces. To keep up-to-date, we are following guidelines for best practices from local, national and international health authorities.
In light of recent news, we will be taking additional measures to ensure that our veterinary hospital is cleaned and sanitized more frequently, particularly in the client-facing areas like reception and waiting areas. We are confident that continued vigilance will help keep our work environment safe, and all those who are in it healthy. Please help us by using hand sanitizer available in the reception area. If you have concerns about visiting our hospital or waiting with your pet, please call ahead to discuss options.
In addition, we ask that if you are feeling any symptoms such as a cough, fever, or difficulty breathing, please call our veterinary hospital so that we can reschedule your appointment or discuss alternate arrangements to ensure that your pet receives the care it needs.
Note that currently there is limited evidence that pets can be infected with the virus, and no evidence that they can be a source of infection to other animals or to humans. We encourage you to speak to one of our veterinarians or technicians if you have questions or need more clarification.
