🎨 Picasso couldn’t paint a cat as unique as Morocco! 🎨
With a coat as vibrant and patchwork-perfect as a desert sunset, Morocco is a rare beauty — a torbie (that’s tortoiseshell + tabby)! This combo means she’s rocking the spicy sass of a tortie and the classic tabby stripes. Basically: she’s the cat version of a limited edition.
Morocco is a total people cat — vocal, affectionate, and ready to chat about literally everything. She’ll chirp and meow her opinions (mostly about why you should be giving her more pats), and she’s got a full-body flop-roll routine down to an art form. Bonus points if you come equipped with toys. 🎾🧶
She’s currently not vibing with other feline roommates — she says, “Why share the spotlight when you can be the star?”
If you’re looking for a one-cat comedy show, cuddle buddy, and conversationalist, Morocco is your girl. 💬💖
✨ Ready for sass, snuggles, and nonstop entertainment? Come meet Morocco — she’ll impress you more than your last Netflix binge.

✨ Meet Venice – the Sweetheart with a Heart Full of Love ✨
Venice isn’t just a pretty face—she’s a whole vibe. One part gentle soul, one part belly rub enthusiast, and 100% loyal companion in the making. 🐶💕
This darling girl is the definition of selective socialite—once she decides you’re in her circle, you’re in for life. Her foster dad? Total VIP. Her favorite spot? Flat on her back, soaking up belly rubs. Her mission in life? To love hard and play harder with her dog sister and human brother.
Venice can be a little unsure in new situations, but a little patience (and maybe a snack or two) goes a long way. She’s learning the ropes of big-kid life: sit, leash walks, doing her business outside (we’re getting there!), and remembering that mealtime doesn’t need to be a competitive sport. 🍽️
She’s also a respectful roommate—sharing her space with three cats, including one grumpy elder feline who’s made it clear that friendship is off the table. Venice gets it. Boundaries respected. ✅
Born around May 4th, Venice is part of the Little Italy Litter—rescued alongside her brave mom, Siena, from the wildfires in northern Manitoba. These pups arrived smelling like smoke but have been warmed by love ever since. Now? They’re clean, safe, goofy, and so ready for their forever homes. 🏡✨
If you’re looking for a puppy who will be your biggest fan, your couch buddy, and your little shadow with a whole lot of heart—Venice is waiting. 💖

Meet Iris 🖤🧡🤍
When Iris first came to us last year, she had a nasty upper respiratory infection and was in very rough shape 😭 It took a long time for her to get healthy and comfortable with us.
However, if you were to meet Iris now, you’d have no idea she was the same cat! She loves to be out of her kennel interacting with anyone who comes in the cat room. She is also an incredibly playful girl; if you start playing with her, be sure you’re in it for the long haul! She’s not a kitten, she’ll be 6 this year, so she’s playful, but settled.
She is an absolutely beautiful calico cat with the softest fur. She has no issues with other cats and is just generally a very happy, easy-going cat 🥹
If you’re interested in a LOVELY cat who is an absolute sweetheart, contact us to come meet Iris! She just wants you to know who she is 😘🐈🩷
📣 SCANDAL ALERT 📣
This 9-month-old cutie is stirring up trouble in the best way possible — by stealing hearts 💘
Meet Scandal — 36 lbs of sass, stubby little legs (think corgi-style), one blue eye, one brown eye, and a whole lot of main character energy. She came in with her mama Greta and siblings Rascal & Rumour... now it’s just her and her sis still waiting for forever homes.
💅 Smallest of the group, but absolutely the boss
🚗 Dream passenger — quiet, chill, road trip ready
🌊 Water baby — lake days are in her DNA
💃 Belly flop queen — rubs required
👀 Constantly battling for 100% of your attention
She’s sweet, playful, affectionate, and will follow you anywhere just to be part of the action.
✨ If you’re looking for a best friend with short legs and a big personality, Scandal is your girl.
📍 Set up a time to meet her — let’s get this little star the forever home she deserves.

The Brandon Humane Society has been in operation since 1946 when it was founded by Eleanor Kidd. She originally housed the Shelter in her garage on 13th Street, then in an abandoned stable near Empress Bay, and later in an old barn near the riverbank where Eleanor Kidd Gardens are now located.
In 1997, the Shelter moved to its new premise at 2200 17th Street East. These days, our residents - both cats and dogs - live in a building with heat and air conditioning , two large exercise yards, an enclosed cat patio, and kennels for approximately 30 cats and 30 dogs at any one time. When our kennels are full our dedicated volunteers foster animals in their homes.
Since we are a NO KILL Shelter, the atmosphere is very positive...our animals are loved and well cared for as they wait to be adopted. We invite you to come and visit to see for yourselves.
Staff and Volunteers
The Shelter Manager/Director is Tracy Munn who has been a dedicated leader ensuring the operations are carried out holding the best interest of the animals in highest regard since 1997. The Assistant Manager is Jillian Blyth who has held this position starting in August 2016 but has been a regular volunteer since 2005.
The Shelter has a wonderful and dedicated pool of approximately 70 volunteers who all play an important part carrying out the regular tasks needed to care for the animals. Our volunteers also organize many of fundraising activities and special events.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please stop by the Shelter to pick up an application.
