The Brandon Humane Society is totally obsessed with Dairy Queen ice cream and pup cups ♥️🍦🍨. Raffie and Valor are beyond stoked to ride shotgun with mommy and score pup cups! Read the captions to see what these two goofballs have to say. Maybe, just maybe, they'll share the loot with the rest of the crew when they get back!

🐾 Hi, I’m Koby – your future best friend (and possibly part baby elephant). 🐾
I was born around June 3rd, 2025, and I’m still learning about this big, exciting world. So far I’ve figured out:
✔️ Floppy ears make you extra cute.
✔️ Naps are just as important as playtime.
✔️ Kids are awesome (I love them!).
✔️ Cats… well, they’re kinda terrifying, but I respect them.
People say I look like a baby elephant because of my oversized floppy ears, skinny little butt, and my clumsy stance. I say it’s my signature model walk. Speaking of walking, I’m learning to walk on a leash and guess what? I’m rocking it. 🚶♂️🐕
I’m a gentle guy—an “old soul” in a puppy body. I love chewing bones and ropes, playing when someone wants to play, and I know when to back off if another dog says “no thanks.” I’m not overly bitey (gold star for me 🏆). Potty training? Yep, I’m doing great there too.
I love being near people and giving affection, but I won’t smother you—I get hot easily, so after a quick cuddle I usually flop on the nearest cool floor like a big fluffy rug.
If you want a sweet, goofy, clumsy pup who’s equal parts playmate and nap buddy, I think we should meet. My name’s Koby, but you can also call me “the world’s gentlest baby elephant.🐘💜
If you would like to meet Koby give us a call or email to set up a time to see this sweet boy.

The Brandon Humane Society has been in operation since 1946 when it was founded by Eleanor Kidd. She originally housed the Shelter in her garage on 13th Street, then in an abandoned stable near Empress Bay, and later in an old barn near the riverbank where Eleanor Kidd Gardens are now located.
In 1997, the Shelter moved to its new premise at 2200 17th Street East. These days, our residents - both cats and dogs - live in a building with heat and air conditioning , two large exercise yards, an enclosed cat patio, and kennels for approximately 30 cats and 30 dogs at any one time. When our kennels are full our dedicated volunteers foster animals in their homes.
Since we are a NO KILL Shelter, the atmosphere is very positive...our animals are loved and well cared for as they wait to be adopted. We invite you to come and visit to see for yourselves.
Staff and Volunteers
The Shelter Manager/Director is Tracy Munn who has been a dedicated leader ensuring the operations are carried out holding the best interest of the animals in highest regard since 1997. The Assistant Manager is Jillian Blyth who has held this position starting in August 2016 but has been a regular volunteer since 2005.
The Shelter has a wonderful and dedicated pool of approximately 70 volunteers who all play an important part carrying out the regular tasks needed to care for the animals. Our volunteers also organize many of fundraising activities and special events.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please stop by the Shelter to pick up an application.
