In rural practice, you never know when an emergency may happen or what it might entail! This young alpaca suffered a broken leg which required the bone to be set and a cast applied. In a few weeks, the cast will come off and he should be off to the races!

Can anyone tell us what a baby alpaca is called? Post your answer in the comments!

We would like to introduce Brendan Cregan! Brendan is a student at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph and will be entering his third year of studies this fall. For the past few days, he has been working with the IVS team in Manitoba gaining hands-on clinical experience with cattle, horses and swine. We would like to thank our clients that have had Brendan on their farms for being so welcoming and showing him some old fashioned prairie hospitality! Tomorrow is Brendan’s last day in Manitoba, so if you see him, be sure to say hello and wish him well as he completes his studies!
