Please have empathy and compassion for all of the pets out there. Most animals are very scared of fireworks. Keep your pets indoors with music or TV on and an emotional support person home if possible. Their mental health and lives may depend on it. 💕

Reminder - The Fourth of July is soon and the fireworks will start even sooner. Pets do not understand and react in different ways. Please keep them inside and safe. Make sure they are microchipped and do not let them outside loose or unsupervised.

Just 3 more sleeps until CKC Summer Spectacular. Our team are starting to organize the prize baskets for all 5 sports we are hosting: agility, obedience, rally-O, sprinter and scent detection. Top Dog in each CKC group, Top Veteran Dog and Top Junior Handlers will be recognized along with Fastest Golden Retriever and Fastest Toy Breed in Sprinter.

LOA’s are short but sweet and our new favourite thing. Wynn hasn’t been to Ronald McDonald House since the beginning of January before her surgery week. Having KD made fresh and an ice cold Fuse while laying on a regular bed is what she needed. The little things you know… we got back in time for a little visit with Wynn’s service dog in training - Harvey 💜.

Keep Wynn in your thoughts and prayers folks. Come celebrate her courage and support her in her fight on June 27th, or donate directly to the family to show you care. Simcoe Performance Dogs and Red Barn Event Centre thank you all for your kindness.

CKC Summer Spectacular is around the corner!! Come celebrate Canada Day weekend with us! The following vendors will be in attendance Saturday and Sunday. GREAT SHOPPING, talented dog sport teams and friendly people. Admission is FREE to spectators (sorry only dogs that are entered may attend due CKC rules).

Andrea Walli will be greatly missed by all of her friends at the Red Barn and within our CKC club Simcoe Performance Dogs. She was very passionate about her breed Miniature Schnauzers and loved training and participating in events at the Red Barn. She supported our events since we started 15 years ago and she helped out at many of them. Most recently she was proud to be bringing Barn Hunt to the Red Barn. We are all very sad that she is no longer with. Those of us who were at our Monday sprinter trial will cherish spending her last day with her. Rest in peace Andrea. Our heart goes out to her sister, her dogs and all of her friends who loved her.
