Today I discovered something deeply concerning…

Apparently BoBoK9Actual has been secretly playing Call of Duty behind my back.

At some point this retired Dutch Military K9 created his own profile, made his own gamer tag, and started grinding matches without my knowledge.

I only found out when he somehow appeared in my lobby and immediately started eliminating everyone in sight. I was completely unprepared for this level of betrayal.

The worst part?

He never said a word.

Just sat there with his little pink headset on, dropped a ridiculous kill count, and went back to pretending he’s a normal dog.

I have many questions.

Who made the account?
Who bought the headset?
How long has this been going on?
And why does he seem to know all the maps better than me?

What a weekend.

Over five days, handlers, dogs, instructors, evaluators, volunteers, and support staff came together from across Ontario and beyond to train, learn, challenge themselves, and continue building the future of Search and Rescue K9 operations.

From Wilderness Live Find to Human Remains Detection, water work, tracking, environmental confidence, and certification testing, there was no shortage of learning opportunities and memorable moments.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, instructed, evaluated, and supported the event. These workshops don’t happen without the incredible people behind them.

Here are just a few moments from an unforgettable weekend.

This past weekend was a special one for our team.

Indy and Vesper successfully certified through the National Search Dog Alliance.

🐾 Indy (10 years old) – Wilderness Live Find Certified
🐾 Vesper (2 years old) – Wilderness Human Remains Detection Certified

What makes this even more meaningful is that both dogs were rescues. They are a reminder that exceptional working dogs can come from anywhere when given the opportunity, guidance, and countless hours of training.

These certifications represent years of early mornings, late nights, training days, travel, problem-solving, successes, setbacks, and a commitment to meeting a challenging operational standard.

I am incredibly proud of both dogs and grateful for the support of my family, teammates, training partners, mentors, colleagues, and everyone who has played a role along the way.

For those who have followed our journey, thank you. These certifications belong to all of us.

It’s been nearly a year since we welcome retired Dutch Military Working Dog Bo of the Airforce. He settled in right away. Perhaps his favourite past time is sitting out in the shade, guarding his flock. Although if I’m being honest, he spends most of the time seeking opportunity to eat their food.

🚨 NSDA CERTIFICATION UPDATE 🚨

We currently have ONLY 2 spots remaining for NSDA Wilderness Area I Live Find Certification during our upcoming Search & Rescue Workshop in Ottawa June 11-14.

This certification is designed to evaluate a team’s ability to reliably locate a live subject in a wilderness environment under established NSDA standards. Certification is intended for serious teams pursuing operational readiness and deployment-level development.

Before registering, candidates should be aware that certification requires preparation and completion of prerequisites including NSDA membership, online testing, training logs, and supporting documentation.
