Cats for Keeps Rescue Society is a 100% volunteer-run, registered charity. We are a cat-rescue society dedicated to helping homeless cats and kittens. We are based in Annapolis County, with volunteers across Nova Scotia. We rescue, foster, heal, spay/neuter, and home cats to reduce suffering and decrease the homeless cat population. Roxy is wondering where her sponsors are? See the pinned original post for details on who has been sponsored to provide Christmas treats so far, and to see pictures of ALL the cats in care right now.

How does it work? You send $10.00 or increments of $10.00 for multiple gifts. Put the name of the cat or cats you are sponsoring in the message of your e-transfer to [email protected]. We will update pictures of the cats with the names of their sponsors (unless you request to remain anonymous) to our page at the end of each day. If you donate $30 or more and would like a tax receipt, please email [email protected] and include your mailing address.
Did you fall in love with one of them? Adoption applications can be found at https://www.catsforkeeps.com/adoptables (if they're ready for adoption).

The cold weather has arrived and we KNOW that there will be calls about cats and kittens, young and old, who have been dumped or abandoned. We really want to help, but to do that we need foster homes.
One of the things that people often say is that they would find it difficult to let their foster kitty go. It can be, but it is even more difficult to have to say no when there is a cat in need. Goji is such a special little girl. She is a brown tabby with beautiful markings. At only 4-months-old, she has certainly seen more trauma than most. Goji was found in the area that had been evacuated this summer because of the Long Lake Fire. She was, about 10-weeks-old when one of our Cats for Keeps volunteers trapped her, and she was beyond terrified. We have no idea what happened to her mother or litter-mates. Goji is a survivor, with a huge heart. She had been with us for two months now and the change is remarkable. She purrs when she is stroked, she eats when her foster mom is in the room instead of only in secret. She plays with toys and loves treats, which she will lick from her mom's finger. Goji curls up with her friend Zelda and her eyes are much less haunted. Goji is looking for a special person who will continue to work with her as she continues to learn that she is safe. Zelda is a beauty and about as sweet a little girl as you can imagine. She is approx 4-months-old and a gentle soul. Zelda is a little shy, but getting more confident every day. She was born outside in the woods and lived as part of a small feral colony before coming to Cats for Keeps at about 11-weeks-old. While she lived in the wild she learned to be wary of any loud noises and alert to any quick movements. Zelda has adjusted well to life inside, plenty of food and water, comfortable spots to sleep, churo treats, and LOTS of loving from herfoster mom. Zelda really loves to cuddle with other kitties, she is gentle, sweet, playful and has begun to occasionally be a lap kitty.
We are looking for just the right home for this special little girl. Once she settles in she is going to be such a loving girl for her very own special person. if you have a quiet home, and maybe even a loving kitty who can show Zelda just how great cuddles can be, please feel free to reach out. bit.ly/AdoptFromCFK

This is Mario. He is about 4-months-old and such a sweet, gentle boy. Mario has a huge purr and he loves to be loved. He is a shy boy and will do best in a quiet home where he will feel safe and secure. Once in a while we get a donation that just makes us smile every time we look at it. This gorgeous - just over 1 foot tall - Christmas grumpy cat was hand made by Marian Kormos. We want it to go to just the right home (like we do with all our cats!) So highest bidder on this post by December 7th at noon gets it. $40 minimum. Pick up in Annapolis Royal.
