In world full of great Toelt videos...I would like to post a Walk one...
Why?
Because I am a suck for good walk and all our horses get trained in it.
To move forward from the hint legs,
pushing with a lose tail and supple back...
a long deep neck, letting the movement from the hintend going thru the entire body.
Using each joint and stretching all muscles.
Allowing a relaxed yet purposely forwardness...
Why?
Because it is beneficial for all gaits...and especially Toelt..

While most of the spotlight goes to the stallions...and rightly so - they are amazing...
We want to introduce some of our less known Broodmares...who's offspring already impress!

Starting with Gloria from Vindsdalur

She got the Best Young Horse of North America Award just a month old...
And a bit of Primadonna additude...but her fast toelt with wide reaching movements makes it all worth it..

Her daughter Ros from Vindsdalur will stay in our Breeding program and
Oskar from Vindsdalur will soon be a breed ambassador in PEI ..
Both got really favorable scores and judgements in last year's Young Horse Evaluation.

Now Gloria is back in being a riding horse waiting for Valinn from Vindsdalur return from Kentucky and hopefully got another Valinn foal next year...
This should be exciting...

It's exciting to watch the development of our 5 year old boy Kafteinn.
He is back in training after a long winter and everything from Toelt, basic gaits, balance and speed is impressive now!
He will be a promising Competition horse and can be available by the end of this fall..

Our talented Intern Madita is accepted to Holar!
We are thrilled! And very happy for her.

And since we consider her part of the family...she is the SECOND one from Vindsdalur!
Jelena being the first and only Canadian.

Madita is here over the summer starting horses with us.
Stay tuned!

To get a real idea of Valinn's breeding qualities we showed his offspring last summer in a
Young Horse Evaluation here in Nova Scotia and the results were really promising!

This year it was Valinn's turn!
He had been shown in a few Sport Competitions so far, but it was his first full Breeding Evaluation at Harmony Icelandics last weekend.
In short...he did well!

He is now a 1.price for conformation Stallion and probably the only canadian bred Stallion with a 10 for mane and tail...
yes...all his offspring get that mane!..

In Rideability some of our expectations were not met...when are they ever! ? ...
Yet he got 8.5 for Galopp and lots of 8s where his still developing qualities did show!
The judges mentioned how much room to grow there still is for him!
He also impressed with strong workethics even in rather hot temperatures and endlessly offering his best.

His rider and trainer Carrie Lyons Brandt did an amazing job presenting him for Conformation and Rideability and we are soo grateful for the entire Taktur Icelandic Horses, LLC team and their effort!
Could not ask for more...

Valinn is soon on his way home to Vindsdalur in Nova Scotia and will meet his girls.
There should be some very elastic and toelting foals with tons of mane next year!
