Let's do another price comparison.
Today, while running errands for the store, I thought I'd check the prices at a big-name grocery store and see how our prices compare. There were differences, we were less in several items, but a bit more in a few. I only looked at the prices of the items that we both carry.

Sample Shopping List with Them:
Avocado - $2.50
Broccoli - $5.50
Red Pepper - $6.99
Green Pepper - $5.99
English Cucumber - $3.00
Kiwi - $1.59
Sweet Potato (1lb) - $3.00
Celery - $5.50
Onions - $2.50

Total - $36.57

Same shopping list with us:
Avocado - $1.85
Broccoli - $4.50
Red Pepper - $3.75
Green Pepper - $4.55
English Cucumber - $2.00
Kiwi - $1.40
Sweet Potato (1lb) - $2.00
Celery - $4.25
Onions - $1.50

Total - $25.80

Total Savings shopping with us - $10.77 (in your wallet)

It may not seem like much, but if you shop weekly for your groceries and save $10.77/week, multiply that by 52 and you'll have saved $560.04 in the run of a year.

Don't forget, our vegetables are sourced weekly, oftentimes bi-weekly, from local farms and markets, and starting soon, from our own greenhouse.

With us, unlike with them, you don't have to buy a 2lb, 5lb or 10lb bags of onion, potatoes or carrots, you can buy one or 101, only what you need. We also offer 1lb and 1/2 bundles of asparagus while they're in season.

Wow!!!! What a great way to start the weekend❤️❤️ this is a must read❤️

Ed Edling of Ed's Property Maintenance Ltd, donated 2 dumpsters to Bishop Park, with us just having to pay the dumping fee (which was a huge help for our tiny budget)

However, his kindness and community spirit didnt stop there! He then decided to only charge us half the dumping fee, he then donated the other half to Moschelle Community Hall to pay for 5 adults or 10 children's breakfast, at their pancake breakfast fundraiser (happening now from 8 to 10am)❤️

With everything going on in the world, Ed is reminding us what community spirit is all about. Helping one another, and supporting one another.

Thank you for everything you have done for both our communities 🙂❤️

Even on a dull day, flowers make everything bright and cheerful🌸🌼

Big thank you to Rob & Joanne Lawrie of Annapolis Home Hardware Building Centre for donating these beautiful flowers, and to Pam Bishop for planting them for us❤️

We are now officially closed for the season.

Thank you all again for another amazing year. To say we have been blessed, yet again, would be an understatement❤️.

We just want to do a little recap and give thanks to the following people who made such a difference this year.

We had community members, Geoff Bishop of Bishop Farms & David Bent of Robbie Bent excavating (and a anonymous business) come together and donated materials, time, and man power to fix up our ball field❤️. There are no words to express how grateful we are to them. The impact this will have for our local school teams, as well as other community members and teams is outstanding❤️

With support of our fundraisers from our community members, as well as kind donations and grants from Annapolis County, the Rotary Club of Middleton , Valley Credit Union, and the Toronto Blue Jay's, we were able to install a new playground set. Letcher’s Lawn Care & Landscaping got the job done, and what an amazing job they did❤️

Thank you to all the local businesses that have become members of our business sign family. This was our 2nd year, and the support keeps growing. The donations help keep our park running, whether it was replacing the wood on the bleachers, or paying for the upkeep of the lawn, we couldn't have done it without their support❤️

Our main fundraisers each year are our BBQ and Bingo. This had to work a little differently this year due to the fires, but we managed to pull off both events all be it, we had a chili supper instead,,,lol.
Again this couldnt of happened without the support of local businesses Graves freshmart & TRA with donations to the supper. Also to the wonderful businesses that donated prizes for our Bingo. We are beyond thankful and appreciative for their continued support❤️

Shout out to Bridgetown Esso who donated popcorn for our family fun night that we held in partnership with West dalhousie community hall in the summer❤️

Last, but not least, we would like to thank Mike of Copperhead Plumbing Services, and community member Wilfred.

These 2 guys have come to our rescue on more than one occasion and volunteered both their time and often supplies to help keep our plumbing or carpentry needs going, as well as volunteered on our clean up days at the start of the season. Two amazing guys that we are lucky to call friends of the park ❤️

Thank you all again, and we can't wait to see you all next year.🎉❤️
