Today I’m sharing the sad news of the passing of Callie, the beloved clinic cat from Falconridge Animal Hospital. Callie was a very special part of my life during the many years I worked there and was a familiar, comforting face to so many who walked through the doors.
She had a way of making mornings brighter and bringing smiles to clients, staff, and anyone lucky enough to meet her.
My heartfelt condolences go out to everyone at Falconridge Animal Hospital and to all the clients who had the chance to know and love Callie. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed. 🐾
It is with collective sadness that we have to let you know of the recent passing of our beloved Boss Cat, geriatric mascot, and favourite hospital snuggler, Callie.
Since she unexpectedly joined us in late 2009, Callie has been more than just a presence in our hospital—she was a source of comfort, warmth, and steadfast companionship to our team, our clients, and countless patients. Whether greeting HER clients at the front desk, refusing to move from the middle of the sunny entrance rug, offering quiet comfort beside a pet after euthanasia, or making rounds to everyone’s laps during staff meetings, Callie had a remarkable way of making every day a little brighter and much calmer.
There is no doubt that Callie will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of patting her. It was particularly hard for our team to come to work and not be greeted by her commanding MEOW upon opening the clinic; in her eyes we were always late for work! She had a devoted client following, both in-clinic and online, who will be saddened to know they won’t see her attempting to climb into their handbags or charmingly model the latest St. Paddy's Day attire anymore.
Callie's paw prints are forever part of our hospital's story, and her memory will continue to bring us smiles. And in this way, we plan to continue to use her image as a icon of the love and kindness we hope to represent.
We are grateful for the love and joy Callie brought into our lives and into the community. Thank you to everyone who shared in that love over the years.
With heartfelt gratitude and remembrance,
The Team of Falconridge Animal Hospital
